yes but thanks to the ADR you guys don't have much choice in what to buy in terms of cheap fast cars. I mean who wants an HSV unless you've got 2 kids, a dog, and a boat. And from reading the Ausi mags like Hot4s etc you guys really do get screwed.

Similar situation on the US, but they still get fiarly wide range of cars to play with, and imported engines for swaps are easy and compared to what we pay Cheap to get hold of.

Rice on a car over here is Totaly unacceptable, esecialy when you can buy the go fast version of your car often for not much more, or the same price as the slower version that often gets riced out.
GSR lancers go for under 10K here, and Iv seen EVO 5s in the 30k Bracket. But EVO 1's are still worth around 20k. Yet there are many Wanna be GSR lacers running around with Drum brakes! or Mirage astis with the 1300cc, not the Mivec 1600cc
Same with Integras and Civics, Im personaly sick of SOHC non VTEC civics with thier drum brakes showing through huge mags, and with Giant wings perched on the Hatch. Why not pay a few $ more and buy an SiR, there common and cheap and if driven gently still get great gas milage.

Rice on a show car however I think is a differnt story, I mean its not like is ever going to get driven very far. (im talking trailer show cars here.)

Anyway just a Honda owners Rant on the topic of rice.

but as has been said at the end of the day if someone wants to pretend thier car is faster and more expensive than it really is then good on them, just as long as dont hold me up on the open road.

It's not just the topic of Honda owners ricing out there cars...i've seen Dodge Neon's, Explorers, Minivan's, SATURN'S. I've seen them on just about every car out there...in some way or another. I don't have anything against honda's until they've been riced with no performance mods. The only reason that you mostly see honda's riced is because they are the easiest to modify, and everyone else does it.

There's a difference between going too far and just trying to make your car look good. There's no set median for how far is too far. It's all in one's opinion. HOWEVER, there's that point when it hits us in our own minds and we realize that THAT is damn ugly. When I say rice i'm talking about the oversized wing, coffeecan exhaust, so on so forth...NOT just adding a body kit. In my opinion i think that body kits are cool. Like on a Syclone when you lower it more and get a body kit so that it can be more aerodynamic. THAT's not rice. RICE is when you're trying to make your car look like something it's not(IE: supra tailights on a prelude, Evo body kit on a lancer). People use the term rice on too broad of a horizon. Rice, like some people have stated before, are people that do no performance mod's to there car, have all the riced out gear, drive like they just stole the car, drive like assholes at 80mph in rushhour, AND still say that they can beat your Vette. THAT's what i'm talking about when i say rice. My definition. Because i have NOTHING against people making their cars FAST then putting on your decals oooorrr what have you. As long as it's used in moderation and serves a purpose. Your being sponsored sooo here's a sticker, or that wing actually keeps your back two wheels on the ground.

Dippie man...Quit saying that. Please quit saying that we were all rice at one time, cause that was a statement where you have NO stance on. Speak for yourself not for the rest of us.

My $.02............

QUESTION??

when the evo VII finally gets to america. i'm going to get one and put a lancer OZ edition kit on it. 16" OZ wheels, get a smaller spoiler, and badge it up type R, just to screw with all the ricers. does this make me sick?

Not sick man...
you might want to leave the TYPE R sticker off...

If you want to mess with them, get a TYPE Z or something else...
just to make fun of them....
