I miss my home in Hong Kong, yeah Universal is the most "commericalized" model shops in HK, sort of like Hobby Town in America. To find the rare and hard to find stuff you need to go to the 'locale' shops, like Cheung Kee in North pt. and there are many in Mong Kok as mentioned.

For electronics and such on Nelson St. in Mong Kok are many places, and a GOLDEN CITY...

Clothing... for cheap knock offs and such Lantern St. and Womens St. are open late at night, but for more expensive stuff, goto Hong Kongs so called 'times sq' in Causeway bay, and you can goto Tsim Sha Tui for the designers stuff... don't forget to drop by HK Armani Exhange and French connection! they have stuff in America that don't have.

I miss home, have fun there, its a magical city, life 24/7 the city that don't sleep is truely Hong Kong... not anywhere else.

Re: Hobby shops in Hong Kong

I am going to Hong Kong next week, so if anyone can recommend a place to visit. I would like to get some kits and diecast. Is Mong Kok is the right place to go? I will be staying in Wanchai actually. and will be there for 4 days only and go to Singapore for 2 days.

Thanks

Re: Hobby shops in Hong Kong

there's a hospital near kong wah street(road?) and just along the same road there's a little alley with model shops and army gear/paintball/military/outdoor games.

nearest mtr stop is mong kok i think.
ask around for the hospital (might also be called kong wah hospital)
