Oi you guys are just killing me!! lol!

You know, I listened to an alpine once. One of those top of the line ones too. I guy bought it for like $800 and it was loud as hell and still clear as a bell. He had amps and subs tho, so I can't be very sure on what the HU was actually doing, but I will admit it sounded pretty damn good. I don't have a great ear for music but the Alpine struck me as nice.

Now you guys are all piling on Alpine, its starting to sway me. I wouldn't mind having a MP3 player that sounded exceptionally clear. I mean, I went out and spent $200 on exceptionally clear speakers; why wouldn't I want a matching HU? It's just that not only does the Alpine totally not flow with the look of my car, but it looks almost exactly like the $1200 DVD model that any fool around here would recognize. Circuit City adverts it big time as their best model. Would I really want to be driving around with a theft magnet like that in my car right after having a JENSEN ripped out? It's almost like asking for it....

If there were just some way to put the very cool and safe Panasonic face on the Alpine unit, I would snatch it in a heartbeat. But I have to choose. Dammit all to hell I can't have my cake and eat it too.... Somebody freaking make up my mind for me!!! Argh!! Panasonic or Alpine? I have thrown out the Sony and most probably the Pioneer now that I'm considering Alpine.

okay you spend $200 on exceptionally clear speakers and you don't want a headunit that will compliment them and make them sound better? What the fuck are you smoking? Nothing on your car exactly flows with it, so whats wrong with the HU being the same. If it's a choice between panasonic and alpine, alpine hands down. Alpine shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence with that piece of shit.

Alpine is indeed very nice. But, if you want the Pioneer just buy a cheap amp and crossover to help you with your soundshaping, power your speakers with the amp, and you will have a god damned symphony in your car...

there is a reason the face comes off of the alpine... THEFT PREVENTION of course you are asking to get it stolen if you just leave it chillen there for the whole world to see... its simple, take off the face plate and put it somewhere

i honestly have had a panasonic, pioneer, and sony head units. Ill tell you right now that there is nothing like an Alpine. In everyway, Alpine dominates in specs, quality, sound and looks. Id say get you moneys worth and get an Alpine

well, looks like God made the decision for me. A day ago, the Panasonic was in stock. I go to order it today, and it's out. They won't get another one in for a month. So lo and behold, Alpine it is. Looks like somebody wants me to get the Alpine really really bad, lol
