Re: SiR too slow offline on 1/4!!!

Hi was reading your postings and thought I could add my 10cents since you responded to mine. My 93 lude is na with a modified h22a. It ran 14.4 at 5 feet above sea level but also had trouble getting out of the hole because of wheel hop and spin. Is your car lowered? If it is have you corrected the camber? Are you also running with an LSD? If not this could improve your out of the hole response greatly We installed a Quaffie LSD and the she is now sure footed at all levels, cornering, take offs, banking turns. If you live in an area of desolate winding roads an LSD upgrade would be an awesome upgrade that you can do yourself. The LSD cost us $850 minus wholesale discount from Quaffie and took very little time to install. It was probably the best bang for our bucks.

what are your 60'ft. times? you want to come out of the hole right as vtec engauges so launch at like 5000 and take out as much air as you need to beable to get traction. you should atleast be mid 16's and i think its deffinatley possible with atleast a 2.2 60'ft.

and also ive heard you lose a good second off your 1/4 if your 4500ft above sea if your n/a and you lose 0.4 tenths if you got turbo. but what about n20? does elavation affect you worse than turbo or about the same or what?

Re: SiR too slow offline on 1/4!!!

elevation affects any kind of setup, and at 5400 ft its more like 1.3 seconds, and .7 for forced introduction engines. Here are some times in my city so you can get the idea of how crappy elevation is:

Mustang GT 98 runs 16.9-17.1
Mustang Gt 2003 runs 15.9-16.0
Civic EX 03 runs 17.5
Civic Si 99-00 runs 17.0 (I ran 16.6 best Si stock)
Golf 2.0 runs 19.0
Golf 1.8 T 180 h.p 16.6

Re: SiR too slow offline on 1/4!!!

Well when I went to the track at sea level and raced at 1:30 a.m I got a 15.377 with my stock civic SiR...some weight reduction done, but it was an excellent time.

you only have to drive 4hours away to get to a track at sea level? damn id go a few times a year! the closest sea level track to utah is i believe sacremento raceway wich is like 11 hours away. and i have to drive 6 hours away just to get to a track thats 2000ft above sea(the strip in las vegas)
ive heard from a guy that tunes cars that you would shave off more time going to sacremento than spraying a 75shot in utah with a stock gsr. so you should hook up a 75shot and go see what you get at your track and see if you can do better than 15.3
