Awesome progress. BTW, anyone know where i can get this model? It looks so much better than the fujimi one. HLJ doesnt seem to have it in stock anymore.

Re: Hasegawa Lancer Evo III Progress
Pity. The Hasagawa one seems soooo much better than the fuji one. Yeh. And there wheels and height are a tad annoying.

Hi Guys, just a quick update, this project has stalled a bit, ive been so busy at work lately. I finally decided on the wheel selection, by memory these are Fujimi 18' Ruf wheels its perfect to show off those huge brembo brakes only thing i dont like about it is the profile, this is an older style Fujimi wheel which seems to have higher profile rubber.
I also lowered the chassis to a more respectable ride height. blacked out the panel lines and stated a bit of work in the interior providing there are no disasters it should be back on track again. ![]() Here is a close up shot of those huge Brembos, shame that fujimi dont make em anymore, looks like its time to cast some for future projects. |

Re: Hasegawa Lancer Evo III Progress
looks really nice right now... and the Carbon fiber works well with the yellow.

I used humbrol flat black enamel just to fill the lines then just let it sit for around five minutes, then i put a tiny frop of white spirit on a tissue then just rub over the panel line, this will just be enought to get rid of excess paint then i put some tamiya compound in my fingers and rub it in to the panel line, this is then followed by polishing it lightly with a clean soft cloth to remove all traces of paint. this works well for me but sometimes if the panel line is not deep enough i use the Gundam markers this is ok but i preffer the previous method best. Lowering the chassis on this car simply involved cutting the struts the required lenght then was followed by drilling and pinning it back for extra support. then after that the lower suspension arm was slightly bent up to meet the lower hub carrier. The Interior is coming along ok, im tinkering of layin some carbon on the dash just to tie in a bit more of the carbon theme, i will try to post some more update pics this weekend. |

Excellent work so far, a very clean build.
Even under artificial light it shows a good shine. Can’t wait for a good outdoor photo. |

I somehow missed this car the first time it went through here. But damn, I sure am glad I caught it on it's way back! This looks great. I really like the work you did on all the simple, small details like the mesh in the grill and the carbon on the spoiler. Both nice details, and very well done, adding to such a beautiful clean model.
