305 camaros suck, I should know I've owned two. I sold the last one and It had headers High flow cats chip etc. Mustangs used to kick my butt on the regular so don't belive that "well I missed a shift crap". The Z28 305 sucked so lets not even talk about an RS. Rs means REAL SISSY around these parts. Today I am the proud owner of a 94 mustang GT.

For once I'd like to get into a run with an old stock(hopefully) 5.0 Mustang with my Firebird, everyone says the 5.0's are still faster then mine but I'd like to see the proof myself.

And yeah too bad for him missing a gear, thats what he gets for being an asshole. Good run.

Re: 92' Camaro vs 90' Mustang

Didn't we have this conversation before?

Stomp a mudhole in the 305. If you don't, don't come back.

Yeah, I think we did have this conversation before. At least this guy has the 5.7 litre, however I dont think that will save you either. For one thing good luck finding a stock mustang to run against. You might indeed give a STOCK 5.0 mustang a good run and it better not be a stick, especially if the guy knows what he's doing.

The problem with 92 f bodys is there so damn heavy and 90% of them are automatics with poor gearing, this doesn't help you at all. This is the same reason why 93 and newer camaros and firebirds are so leathal. They are a lot lighter car, most of the body is all plastic, that combined with a 5.7 litre is somthing to be dealt with.

My Firebird isn't heavier then the 4th Gen Trans Am. My engine is even cast iron and its still lighter by like 50-100 pounds.

Like I said, hopefully one day we'll see.

My expirence's with 3rd Gen F-bodies in my stock(except Trans-GO shift kit and K&N Filter) 87 5.0 Auto were as follows.

86 IROC 305 auto = Beat in 1/4 mile by a full second.

Not sure year GTA 350 auto, B&M shift kit, Ported intake, wider tires. Beat by 3 car lengths 1/4 mile on the street.

84 Z28 305 auto, beat by 2 seconds 1/4 mile track.

Not sure year IROC 350 auto Flow cat-back beat by 4-5 car lengths 1/4 mile on street.

85 T/A 5-speed, Beat badly every which way on the street not even close.

*Note all the cars excpet the T/A took me through first gear by about 1/2 a car. Once I bumped to second it was over.

Why do you say that you think he's a liar? There's no point if you're going to lie about it.

No I dont think he's a liar. I think he's very serious about wanting to race. I say dont do it because this is the same car that tore me a new
one back when I had my Z28. I'm not saying that I don't belive your car is fast I'm sure it is. I just have a very bad taste in my mouth when it comes to f bodys especially that particular year. My Z had and I say had because I dont own the thing anymore. But mine had headers 3'' pipes, chip, K+N and major work done to the intake maifold Runners, throttle body the whole nine. This car even had edlebrock heads. Now against another 3rd gen F body, I couldn't be touched. Then I started trash talking a buddy of mine about his newly aquired 88 stang. Let me tell you somthing I have egg on my face today about that race and I don't even own that car anymore. So Good luck, I hope yours is better than mine was.

Re: 92' Camaro vs 90' Mustang

90stangjc, why don't come come and get it on with my 92 camaro RS. I'll by you a beer if you catch up with me. LOL Seriously though, the 305 doesn't suck, it just needs special attention and a driver that knows what he's doing. You beet him fair and square, if you miss a shift then to damn bad, learn to drive or get an automatic.
