We have tree-hugging sissies here too,and people like Mr Rooney. As a 'New Zealander by choice',I get a bit touchy on the issue of immigration. One of the reasons that I find comments direcyed at immigrants distasteful is that people often only treat those from vastly different cultures in this manner. Many a time I have had to put up with the ignorance of people born into this country. At work, there are many ill-educated and slow-witted fools who like to complain about the number of Asians who are buying into the Kiwi lifestyle.Once the morons start their mantra about how bad the Asians are,how you can't find a dairy[convenience store] or takeaway shop ,that isn't run by Asians, they quickly get on to talk of sending the immigrants home....That's when I start getting wild. There have been Asian merchants in New Zealand for Generations, and they often have more claim on New Zealand citizenship than the brokenasses that whine about them.Anybody who talks about sending people back to their country of birth is including me in their ignorant ranting.

When people start whining about not liking the way their country is evolving,I tell them that they should do as the immigrants do.Work hard, save up a shitload of money, and move your family to somewhere that you would be happier. The days of citizenship as an exclusive birthright, and cultural assimilation as a condition of residence, are best consigned to ancient history. With the advent of mass air travel, the concept of staying in one place forever became unneccesary, and immigrants ceased to be an oddity. In New Zealand,as in America ,pretty much every xenophobic,redneck,immigrant-insulting racist is descended at some point from an immigrant themselves. To insult those who have chosen to find themselves a better life is to insult your own ancestors.

Call me biased, but I've never met an immigrant that I didn't like.I've got more important things to get stressed about.

as much as i would like to see your point...i cant
you cant imagine what its like living in the U.S. and going to a convenience store to get a candy bar and them not know a lick of english...it happens!!i say if your mexican and you wanna swim across in the middle of th enight for a better life....learn to speak english. 75% of labor and plant workers in texas are mexican and only about 5% speak english. try having concrete poured at your house and you yell at 5 mexicans that they are putting it in they wrong spot. they look at you pour it over your lawn and wonder why you are screaming. and he hit the nail on the head about "african americans" living in the south im sick of all these blacks saying just because they cant get a parking spot that wal-mart is racist, before too long there will be BLACK parking right next to the handicapped parking just so blacks will stfu. and the word NIGGER (thats right, i said it) if its such a bad word, why do blacks say it? by blacks saying it and taking offense to it i think that is racism. i dont care how big or black you are you come up to me and see if i dont call you a nigger when the term is appropriate. i am by no means racist but you people over seas have no idea how bad it gets for americans.
P.S. in the words of Eminem, "if i offended you, GOOD! cause i still dont give a fuck!"

The whole thing with folks that can't speak English is one thing. I agree that if you're in a job where you have to interact with other people, you damn well better be able to understand them and have them understand you. I don't live in Texas, but I did visit a time or two, and it struck me as though some of the folks I encountered had crossed the border that morning.

As for the black folks issue: such behavior isn't restricted to folks of that skin color. I've dealt with people of every shade that felt like they were superior to everyone else, or that they were somehow entitled to things that other folks weren't. I'm a firm believer such things as "minority affairs" make no sense at all. If groups want equality so bad, why in hell do they make up a seperate group for themselves, and expect it to get preferential treatment?

We all bleed red in the end, and that makes nobody better than anyone else regardless of their shade of color. Attitudes need to change in that regard, big time.

Why is that so important? As long as you get the candy bar and the right change, what's the big issue? If you don't like a store for any reason,go somewhere else.

As for the concrete scenario, you get what you pay for.If you hire a bunch of cowboys instead of a reputable company, you are likely to be dealing with fuckwits, regardless of ethnic origin![a good concrete team only needs 3 people anyway, but that's another story ].Anyway,I though you were an American? If they put the concrete in the wrong spot, refuse to pay them and have your lawyer roll them for damages.

Your comments on parking for black people and the use of the word 'nigger' show exactly where you are coming from...

So as well as being prone to making assumptions about Mexicans and blacks, you assume to know exactly what I can and can't imagine.Your quote from Eminem sums you up nicely, even though you failed to offend me.I can only feel pity for someone who gets twisted up because he has to buy his candy from a foreigner.Maybe if the rest of the world thinks like you,you should open your own store!Heck, the rednecks would flock for miles to buy their candybars from a good ole' all 'Merican boy!And don't forget to put up a sign out front,"Parking for white folks only".....

There is no excuse for racism. Please try to grow out of it,it's a chickenshit habit.

go anywhere in the deep south states in the u.s. and go anywhere but quicktrip and ask for change for a $20. the looks you will get can not be seen any other time. and to make it worse on the mexicans, the ones that DO know english act like they dont just to ignore you. what is getting bad is congress is passing laws to put all legal documents in spanish. if you cant read a fucking stop sign you shouldnt be in a fucking car anyway. most of them dont have drivers licenses anyway. and like i said im not racist. but if everybody wants to be so equal why are they demanding differential treatment? and the concrete, you cant find a construction crew that is overran by mexicans its not like its an option to get by the cheapest way necessary. like i said, you cant imagine what its like. so until you come over here you need to stfu

Being from Houston, I understand what v6stang is saying. However, I agree with 'Naki. It does irritate me when I can't understand what they are saying, but growing up with me has helped keep a blind eye to it and not think about it.

As for what was said about blacks. I've had black friends(if you want to say that, their just my friends to me) all my life. If you did know and were friends with blacks then you would understand about calling each other 'nigga' . If theyre friends with you, no matter what race you are, you start saying 'nigga' too. Now you can't be like "whats up n---er", b/c that would be offensive. I do disagree with the NAACP and Rainbow Coallitions steps to attempt to gain prosperity by false pretenses.
