I love my 2000 neon, i bought it used and it has alot of miles on it, but for howmany miles it has on it, it sure runs good. of cource if I were making more money I'd get another tipe of car, (only because I want to see hoe they compair) but don't get me wrong, I love my neon!

The mustang is a piece of sh#t! There are way two many four packs that can spank that car. It is the weakest 8 cylinder on the market. Bit#ches ride ponies!

No, ALL of them are made in Belvidere,IL these days. Before the '00 M/Y SOME of the Neons were made in Toluca, which where the PT is now made.

Neon's may have a few problems .. But, as a whole, they are a great car. I own a 1998 Neon Expresso, and have been working with it for about 2 and a half years now, adding pretty much everything you can add to it. Engine componets, forced induction (dual turbochargers, two 100 shots of nitrus ALWAYS go Nitrus Express, CryO2, etc.), exhaust, plugs, wires, Venom 400, MOPAR racing systems, stage II driveshafts, stage III axle, whatnot ... And, onething I have found, you can just keep going, and going, and going ... And, so on ... The Neon is a good car on it's own, but the ability to modify the crap out of it makes it one of the most flexable cars out there. Latahz ...

uhm...thats true for almost any car. w/ the right money, u can make anything fast and keep going and going and going...

im not doggin neons (love the srt-4's motor, still don't really dig the styling), jus thought that wasn't a very valid arguement for the neon since SO many cars can do the same.

btw...buddy's g/f has a neon w/ well over 100k on it, and she's never had major problems w/ it cept for wishing it were something a bit newer/sportier.

I think the point he was trying to make was that Neons are just good cars. He never said that some OTHER cars couldn't do the same.

He's right, though. The Neon is a very flexible racer, at home on road tracks, AutoX, and 1/4 mile tracks. Even makes a decent grocery getter!

Yes, my point was that Neon's are a great car, like many others. But, I post here because I own a Neon and have been working on it for a long time. You are right that almost any car ... But, yes ... The Neon is a great example of a car that can be used to create a great racer, or just a good running car, after a few modifications. Especially in the older models, 95 - 99.

Those year models are mostly pron to things such as headgasket and transmisson problems. That isn't saying that they will all have these problems, but i'd say about 45% of them will have something wrong with one of the two, But, you also have to realize, that there is no car that is 100% problem free. Even mine, with the extremes of modification, has it's problems from time to time. But, as a whole, Neon's are a great car, regardless what aplication you want to use them for.

And, as for the statement about my engine, it is stock, but it is modded out, just like the rest. 0.020 bored out piston heads, FORGE piston arms, and rockers. FORGE camshaft, complete upper and lower end overhauls, complete wire, plugs, distributer, etc. The main base of the engine is still the 2.0 L 16 valve 4 ...

And, as for the run time, come watch me sometime and find out ...

I'm working on making a webpage, actually. I am also working on trying to get my car into a couple of local mags. But, ultimately, I am trying to get my car into a mag like Super Street or Import Tuner ... But, first, I have to find a way to get my specs, dyno testing results, track results, pictures, and new ideas for other Neon drivers on a web site ...

And, yes ... You might as well call me a Neon freak, as is my girlfriend who owns a 2003 Dodge Neon that we are currently modifying.
