more pictures about your japanese F1 (take a look at the red line, no line in jkbon's pics). it's signed by Gordon Murray in rear spoiler (there are 3 videos)

Let me try my Spanish...

"GOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL"

You totally scored with those links f1esp - those are brand new to me and I would assume they are new to everyone else here too. Unless someone here is keeping secrets.

Great work man!!!

which photo can you see the chassis plaque clearly enough to read #010?

Oh, and what's with the ill-fitting carpets?

Is it #10 or #70? I thought that if it was one of the first 13, Gordon Murray's signature would be ahead of the chassis plaque.

This one - it's in the second link he posted - the car without the red stripe on the ventline of the door is #010.

In the first set of photos, it would appear that someone has put in some floormats to protect the carpet which just don't fit the car very well. That would be my guess anyway.

Isn't this car the one that was spotted with the HD kit and the "049 PF" plates, or are there more cars with the red stripe on the ventline that I thought: http://www.sportscarfan.com/yasu/mclarenf1/mclaren.htm

You make a very valid point - and admittedly, it's really hard to be certain one way or the other from that photo. I pulled it into photoshop, increased the size and sharpened it just a hair. I think you might be right, but I'm not positive either way. The signature thing you bring up is a very valid point though - thanks for mentioning that.

Here's the photo - let the debate begin.

mini magic claims that the silver F1 on Autosalon Singen's site was #070, and most of the details match, except that car had a red driver's seat. Maybe it was refitted when it changed hands. I guess we'll have to find out how confident he really is that it was #070. I just love a good McLaren mystery.

I'm not familiar with any silver HDF car that has the red stripe on the door. The car that was spotted at the factory by tvrfreak wearing that plate certainly does not have one.

There are now three F1s I'm aware of with the ventline stripe painted red. They would be #002 which has been refitted with the HDF kit but is charcoal grey (read black), Leno's #015 (black), and this car. I haven't a clue what the chassis number is on this most recent one from Japan, but I will fire up the old email machine and see if the photographer can tell us.

I think if we had a hi-res version of this photo, we might be able to tell.

there is a good photo amongst the collection which shows the engine stamped with the build date of december '93. Therefore this is probably 010, as it is a 94 car. that still leaves the mystery over the lack of murray's signature....

lol, i've mixed the two cars up. Forget everything i just sayed

EDIT: no, don't forget everything. The point i made about the date stamped into the exhaust system, seen here:

http://www.sportscarfan.com/yasu/mcl.../my1/mc_02.htm

means we can narrow down which car it is, as it is quite likely to be an early '94 car. That leaves 001 (unlikely), 006, 009, 010 (the other japan car?) and 013. Anybody know anything about these cars?

BTW: there is something rather nice about this photo:

http://www.tennodai.com/~satoh/RS200...Left_trunk.jpg

Looks like the car sees regular use with all those things (jacket, model car etc.) you'd find in a "normal" car.
