It all depends on how much boost you want to run. 6psi and not driving like you stole it all day long will be fine from what I've read. Overboosting for any small length of time, and you will put a hole in a piston. A bad boost spike will do some damage as well.

Re: jdm or usdm h22, help!!!!!!!!

no way! go with an H22a
and ALWAYS go with JDM not usdm.
for 2 main reasons
1. Power, th us has all those dumb emmitions laws that cut power
2. All the good parts are made for jdm engines

but wheith you go with an H22a or a B16 go jdm
http://www.totaljdm.com/?id=41044
that website has some good deals on jdm's

I'm sorry, but you are wrong.
1. In order to license the car for road use, most places require you to get an emissions test. In order to get the JDM to pass, all that dumb emissions stuff you talk about has to be on the car, which affects the hp of the jdm engine just like it does the usdm engine, so basically there is not that much difference between jdm and usdm if you plan on getting it on the road. Maybe a couple hp, but not noticeable.

2. Please show me a part you can buy for a jdm h22a that you can't install on a usdm h22a1 engine.

right you are about the parts. but i dint have to get an emitions test.
and 10hp is a noticable diff. even more so in a honda. and if you put a turbo on, thats 15-20 more hp than a usdm. my point is that there is a reason REAL racers use JDM swaps. not to diss you SRT-4, which is a tight ride, but japanise parts and engines just work better. dont ask me why. my car (93 prelude si) had a crappy engine, so crappy in fact my timing belt was linked to a wheel with a hampster in it, that gave me one extra hp, lol. it dint even run, till i dropped my pimp'n H22a in and now it flys, well..............its quick. http://www.totaljdm.com/?id=41044

peace

i agree, 7or 8 psi is the most i would put on a daily driver. remember, your intercooler is gonna block alot if your raidiator so keep that in mind and if you just wanna run like 260hp put a stage 1 turbo w/o an intercooler.

When you are talking about building a motor like I am, 10hp isn't squat. I'm looking to squeeze 500-600whp out of my h22a. whether it's 520 or 530, you won't notice.

You forgot to answer my post about what parts will work on a jdm that won't on a usdm.

I don't know why you stuck in the part about the srt-4, didn't have anything to do with my response other than to do exactly what you said you weren't and that's dissing on it. I don't see why everyone assumes the motor in it won't last. I haven't had a single problem with my car since I got it and that was a year ago. It's pushing 250whp and 270wtq and by the end of the summer both of those numbers will be over 300 and it will still be running as strong as the day I got it.

The SRT-4 comes stock form dodge w/ a turbo. Thats why most import nuts think it won't be realiable (american motor w/ turbo). I was just reading in MODIFIED where they had one pushing 500whp. The main thing to me is the look, its not my favorite, but I respect the power and we should see even more fast ass modded up SRT-4's in the future

Obviously you don't know what the hell an srt-4 is if you didn't know it was turbocharged, but yet you are saying that jap engines and parts are better than the srt-4 parts and engine. You are a fool. I've spent about $650 and have about 35whp and 30wtq more than it was at stock. Also, no, I don't have a cold air intake, exhaust of any kind or a new manifold. All of that is stock. Like ra227 said, there is one srt with over 500whp on a stock engine, a couple that are in the 400 range on a stock engine and many many that are in the mid 300 range. Then you have shaun carlson who drives the srt-4 drag car. He's over 900whp on something like 44psi and he's running the stock head, block, bedplate and crank. You might as well stop posting about the car cause you have no clue about it. I imagine you probably got beat by one and now hate them so you have to dis on them.
