The Roadster did not officially go into 'mass' production until 1996. The Panoz family invited specific Ford dealers to a dinner/unveiling at their winery, Chateau Elan, in Braselton, Ga. on September 8, 1996. Danny and his team had been building a few each year prior to 1996. With the help of Jack Roush, Panoz had gotten Ford to agree and acknowledge that they could and would service the Roadster at most dealerships.

Yes, the AIV and the Esperante are the only two production cars right now.


Actually the AIV Roadster was taken out of production in 1999. There are rumors floating around that an improved version may return in the future.

I know for a fact that Panoz would have no problem federalizing their cars in the UK since they use a lot tried and true parts instead of questionable machinery. But, Panoz has only made about 500 cars almost 8 years, so I don't think Panoz could take on having to up production for Europe.
