exactly, if you put the tranny from the s13, s14 and s15 6spd side by side what would the differences be? if its the same bell housing it should be able to bolt right up. kinda like using and 2000 integra type r tranny on a 94 integra ls. as far as the drive shaft goes, i don't see why that would be custom done, can someone explain to me why? also, where do you get custom drive shafts? i find this really interesting and would like to see how do-able it is. also, what are the gear ratios like in the 6 spd as opposed to the 5spd?

The ratios are closer.

There are some driveshaft shops around...Google will tell you all about them

yeah i know you guys are talking about drivetrains. The S15's do look nice don't get me wrong, if they sold em I would buy em new out of college. I meant just the rear end, it looks like a grand am/prix. The front is totally originaly but the rear end has a grand am-ish tail light design.

it does kind of have the same line to it as a gran prix. i'm sure none of us have the money to find out about this 6 spd conversion. i'm gonna see if i can email some shops and get an answer. having a close ration 6 spd makes me want the sr20det over the ca18det a little. 2 more months of work and i should be making that decision.

The Driveshaft is a different length on the S13/14 compared to the S15 and i think the Universal Joint is a different size

besides the fact that ncnismos last post was way out in left feild what the Hell does "Drop a sixer with that engine" mean?

the Universal Joint is not so universal at all then... oh and "drop a sixer"... refers to 6-speed?, which is what everyone is talking about?

i know why its weaker, iketani... I'm just saying it can't be THAT weak.. like some other dud said, it goes at 400hp. That's not that bad. It's not like its THAT easy to get over 400hp. And, anyone doing this obviously has the resources to ugrade the gears and get some reinforced parts or something.. But meh. I can't be bothered with 6 speeds until they can be bolted up to RB25s.

doesn't Blitzs S15 run 425 horses with no probs? I dont think its as weak as i've heard but not as rugged as the 5spd.

S15 gearbox can handle 450hp - Blitz did this build up.

besides, we're talking about the drivetrain here.

derek - as for mating the 6-speed to a 13 or 14 engine...i highly doubt it...but of course, i'm not 100% positive...

This is probably a shot in the dark, but of well. What about the z33
6-speed? Is it possible to use that on a 13 or 14 engine. and are they strong at all? I know some cars you can make an adapter plate for.

I'm personally wondering if this would be worth the money to attempt in the first place. The S15 made more power than the S14, and weighed a bit less, but 0-60 times aren't too dissimilar. Mainly because the 5-speed on the S14 could hit 60 in second, whereas the 6-speed in the S15 required another change to hit 60.
