Re: Re: Re: Which would you take?
Quarter schmorter- I am sorry but I see few things more irrelevant in car design than that damn 1/4 mile- and the RB26 has NOTHING else to do with handling- hanling comes from ATESSA, the suspension, the Chassis and Steering- not the RB.
Also due to it's shorter stroke the RB lacks a serious amount of Torque in comparision to the 2JZ- and you seem to call the Supra a V6 single turbo- when- like the RB26DETT- is a Twin Turbo LINEAR 6- clearly you know little about the Supra- so you should keep quiet until you actually take time to read up on the damn thing.....The point is the RB lacks Torque to back up it's bhp, hence I cannot take it seriously as I do the 2JZGTE I personally find- for my style of driving RWD suits me better- AWD- is far too correct (If you will) for my liking- and while most of the time the Skyline GTR is RWD- I son't like the fact that the Front wheels are even driven- AWD is a novice's tool.......

Who's the one quick to jump the gun!? If u actually looked at the stats i said that the supra had an inline 6 cyl twin turbo on the short block engine. the original has a single turbo! that was just a typo. i was talking about the others. it looked like u just scaned over what i wrote! read it jimmy boy!

Since I'm a RWD guy, their goes my vote for the AWD cars. I just think a RWD can be funner than a awd.(although i may reconsider when winter hits hehe), i've never been a huge Supra fan, but I do appreciate their accomplishments. The S2000 is probably the nimblist car on the list. The only hesitation I have against it is its lack of horsepower over the other cars. I would probably end up taking a rwd american car that could outperform any of these stock imports.(i'm not trying to be biased, just honest). The new Viper shouldn't have a problem outsting these, along with the Z06, the Cobra might have lots of problems with the R34, but much after that it shouldn't.
I also don't like the reliability of turbo's, which just about all of these cars have taken in account for except the S2000, n/a = Not Asmany problems hehe, or Not Asmuch horsepower. |

Re: Which would you take?
Hold up! u think a viper can beat a Skyline on the track!? it can beat the R34 on the strip and top-speed, but not on the track. none of these cars can beat the skyline on the track. the Z06 is slow as hell on the track. it takes way too long to get up to speed. yeah it has a high top-speed but that's it, compared to any AWD car, any RWD car hadles like crap. AWDives are made turn at highier speeds.
And, kid. N/A means naturally Asperated. and turbos don't need as much HP. the turbos account for acceleration. Yes there's a bunch a problems with turbos, but hey, they're worth it.

Yes I know what n/a means, and their more reliable without a turbo, but turbos allow for more power; hence me saying "or Not Asmuch power" Where do you think a Skyliner is going to beat a Viper on the track? let alone beat and out accelerate a Z06? and how does a Z06 take way too long to get up to speed.....have you ever heard of turbo lag? RWD cars absolutly do not handle like crap, where are you getting these things? AWD are not made to turn at higher speeds, thats a matter of grip. A Z06 is not slow on the track, are you kidding me. A Z06 will out accelerate a Skyliner at any speed, exept for maybe off the line. First of all a skyliner lacks nearly 80hp of the Z06, and it considerably outweights the Z06, so where are you getting that its faster? It will outgrip a skyliner on a dry surface any day. A skyliner is to front heavy to be taking turns as well as a Z06 unless your in a drifting competition. Your trying to compare a Skyliner to cars that are in a higher class, thats just silly. |

i wouldnt say the skylines really that heavy for an awd car with 6 cylinders, r34's curb weight is about 3395, thats lighter than a mustang cobra r, and about as heavy as an e46 m3. weight distribution of the r34 skyline is about 57% front, and 43 % rear. its awd drive sytem attesa usually drives the rear wheels, and shifts up to 50% of its torque to the front wheels when necessary, it drives like a rear wheel drive car, but with a little bit of front wheel traction. with attesa, and four wheel steering, it lessens understeer, and oversteer. the systems not perfect, but it helps out a lot.

I do realize that the Skyline is very very sophisticated. The new R34 comes with many upgrades over the older R33, including twin ceramic intercooled turbochargers, to reduce turbo lag. Altessa featues the new E-TS system allowing the torque to split. In addition to the new intelligent electronic limited-slip, the HICAS rear wheel steering system features a new electronic yaw-rate Control system. Granted all the new improvments make the R34 the best skyline yet. I would like to see how this R35 im hearing about does. But i still don't think it can beat the Z06. |
