Back in 1986 My truck would make 165hp 275tq stock.

But with age, and milege... it's down to about 140hp... if that. Still has plenty of torque though. But on the highway she's a gutless wonder has very little pull. Plus my truck is about as aerodynamic as a brick through air. So it doesn't go that fast... I regularly draft behind Big Rig trucks so I save on gas.

The truck is for sale... hopefully somebody will come take her off my hands. Once the Nogo gets running, I won't have a need for two vehicles that get less than 10mpg.

Although, except for changing an alternator and starter... the truck has been extremely reliable. Chevrolet built a good truck during the '80s... nothing can sway my view on that... except maybe the motors are weak as piss.. but damn reliable!

not all the 350's were dogs... when you put a 400 in a 3000 lb car it really moves

but im forced to sell the z because there's too much power going to the car and not enough reinforcement.... i already broke a tranny. that and it gets about 9mpg.

You wanna play with the big boys, you pay like the big boys.

Sad to see you're parting with the Z so quickly... but at least you can say you had a awesome sleeper. Something to tell the grandkids with in the future maybe?

Mark - "Yep..Had me a 300Zx once.. Yep...Had me a 400ci V8 in it too... Yep...Beat me all sorts of cars with it... they never saw it coming either... Yep...So fast it scared the poop right outta me it did..."

Grandkid - "haha, Grandpa.. you're poop'in right now!"

Mark - "Yep..."

Hey, mynismo, don't sell her off just yet!

Get in touch with Perfection Fabrications in Lorain. Those guys are pros at strengthening chassis on the cheap. In fact, they're the reason most of the push Jeeps at Lorain County Speedway and Sandusky Speedway have Chevy 350's.

Although their company Jeep has a 396 big block.

Seriously though, Perfection Fabrications are the exact dudes you need. Most of their work is either Street Stock or E-mod race cars for County drivers. Many of their cars have won championships.

If I had 4k, I'd take her off your hands. But, unfortunately, I've got to buy a starter for Layla to get her out of my old place's garage. $140 bucks for a starter, bloody hell.

Heck, if you know where Master's Auto is over on State Road, that's where I'm working.

not sure where master's auto is, there are a lot of auto shops on state. do me a favor and ask around if anyone wants it... im really not asking much, and im sure there's some guy who likes original swaps out there. at least i don't have to pay insurance on it, its just sitting in the garage.
