I hear what you are saying but it's all the same. I don't care if it's Nissan,Honda, Ford, Chevy whoever. I've worked on all types of cars to see that ever companies cars have flaws and places where the just plain cut corners to save some money$$$

But not everyone - Toyoda has constantly improved the quality of their vehicles while slowly reducing the manufacturing costs of their products. I realize their business model is impossible for a domestic manufacturer to replicate; but it is better to blow 25 dollars per car on a reliable fire wall, then to be sued for millions by relatives of the afflicted. I wonder how much the firestone recall ended up costing ford - on paper and with their marketing image. Clearly i can't pretend to know much about the industrial manufacture of the atomobile - but i do know that cutting costs are essential to any business; but costs must be cut intellegently - not to a limit of degrading quality.
