go straight to the GZE or the 20v and slap a turbo on to it, leave the internals stock and wind in the boost.
I helped build up a GZE with 32 psi, water to air, slapper inlet mainfold, fully function T-VIS(!!!) and we made a genuine 336hp/255kw at the wheels, not dyno-jet horsepower, dyno-dynamics. this was with 180,000km stock pistons ,cams, well everything except inlet and exhaust mainfolds and inlet was no better than stock(T-VIS!) it was however running methanol, but i dont see why you couldnt do the same thing with proper inlet setup and lower boost to see a comfy 300hp atw. This engine has expired but only due to a combination of the oil being watered down by the methanol and a huge over rev(recall on Microtech was 10,800rpm) no rods out the side just spun rod bearings, so we launched it and got a built 20v (wisecos, crowers, innovative T-61,toda cam gears) made 371hp@27psi then kept spinning off the dyno, still sorting out the finals but should easily eclipse 400 and them we will start really winding in the boost.......... |

A little correction the 4agze 1600 16valve supercharge is 170@6400 That one came in the ae101. the ae92 4agze came 165@6400

you dont wanna just go slapping boost into a 20valve the crank, rods are ligtend to let them rev high in N/A form and the pistons have quite thin crowns that you will blow a hole in, however you can get a 20valve put the gze crank and rods in then get custom forged pistons (prolly cost abit) the gze pistons will work but if you brake your timing belt you will take out your valves, or you could get the gze then mod it and slap a 20valve head onto it, but you will still need to change pistons due to the cutouts
in saying all this tho im unsure if the 20valve head, or the TEVIS intake help much with forced induction, altho the 20v head should flow alot better along with its quad throttles

Hi,
correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the ae101 lighter than the ae92. Can any give the actual weight of both cars. I know the design make it look fatter, but someone told me it was lighter. Well then the rims are bigger (15" stock, 14"wouldn't fit)

every AE101 vs AE92 race iv seen the AE92 has been slightly quicker :S
and my 20valve tends to keep up/pass them at anything over 60km's (un modded ones) have a read up of this.. for AE101 specs http://www.angelfire.com/mt/AceSniper/ae101.html AE101's came with 14" rims, 14" alloys, and 15" alloys the 14" rims came on the S and SJ (granny spec) 14" alloys came on the GT APEX's that didnt have super strut 15" alloys came on all gtz's and any car with super strut (super strut uses slightly bigger calipers that are twin piston and the 14" wheels wont fit on them), all gze's have superstrut, along with some apex's that took advantage of the option, superstrut is nasty when it stuffs up... expensive |

I know all about the ae101 (GT-Z). I own one (ae101 gt-z with lsd) and before I had an ae92 (GT-Z), my younger brother wrecked it completely.
I draged against my friend ae92, Mods intake, exhaust, pulley and abv mod and back then all my car had was intake, exhaust, remap, 17'' wheels and 100 lbs of music equipment. We ran 3 time on the straight, I won all 3 but he came pretty close. Than 3 run on a twisted road (not straight) and the ae92 got about 5 car lenghts. My point is the ae92 gt-z is almost as fast but don't handle as good (I still think it's heavier) making it less fun to drive The ae101 gt-apex 20v is perfect for the highway to get you to work fast and might pass the gt-z on a road about a mile long and striaght. If you want a rush of turque, fast accelaration and excellent handling (fun driving) get the GT-Z The wieght of the ae101 (gt-z) is 2530 lbs stock. 1.150 kg, can anyone please give the wieght of the ae92 (gt-z). 4agze engine has more room for modification and has stong internals. You basically can't do much with a 20valve. "someone say turbo", will you would have to disable the vvt. You might as well use a regular 4ag engine. |

yea I agree, boost into a 20v isnt the answer, for them about all u can do is tune every little thing, that cost out weghs power gained, a pre facelift silvertop is slower to the facelift moddle due to the intake been better (bad head/intake match on pre facelift)
my 20v from a stand still aganst a gze will catch upto it in 3rd gear, on a rolling start anything above 60k it pulls away, also you could turbo one and keep VVT unless you change cams/cam gears but it dosnt have much advantage on a turbo i doubt, the quad intake should help, 20valves... no idea there are afew around turbo'd so ill have to try track one down, making the internals stronger is simply taking the gze ones and fitting them, apart from you need pistons for the valves :/ anyway i could talk for ever about this *yawn* gze low rpm power, 20v high rpm power 20v hard to make more power, gze just slap more boost at it.. what year was the AE92? the later ones have the same engine as the AE101, and the ones from the first two years have slightly less power Mellason : were are you from, I have a AE101 trueno aswell 20v facelift |

Hi,
Iam from St.vincent, located in the caribbean, west of Barbados. Basically It's an island with no highways but fairly good road mostly narrow(occasional wide roads), curves and corners. Here the population is mostly young people and that mean alot of imports like supras, skylines, turbo starlets, turbo familiars 323, evo lancers, pulars gti-r, escorts rs, civic sir vertech s/c, integras sir, crx sir, one mustang 5.0, eclipse, FTO, 3000 gt, levin/ tureno gt-z, twin turbo fairlady, slivas (there a 2001 sliva with an gti-r engine conversion), impresa wrx/sti and vw corados(I had one 1800 s/c). On a small island one of the biggest motor sport attraction is elegal drag racing and street racing. these races occur mostly early in the morining (2-4 a.m). At these hours the roads are dead. Also there are no emmision law and on laws on what you can do to your vehicle. As you may observed most vehicles are form japan jdm (a few left hand drive). On the GT-Z run with the big boy (impresa, etc) because of the high torque at low end and instant boost, making one ideal car St.vincent. To put it simple here we don't have the roads for big displacement engines ( top-end power waste of time) and the all wheel turbo bad boy are no so hot on tar (personally I think they are missing the dirt). So a modified ae101 Tureno GT-Z will kick ass. I don't ilegal race much "now" because I'm the vice president of I.D.C.A auto club. Here is an old photo of my ae101 when I was racing. Later I'll send up dated photo.http://www.4age.net/gallery/later/039.jpg |

sounds sweet, yer the illegal drag racing scen here is mostly jdm imports, but the cops have come down really hard onit, I was done twice in one week for stuff that wasnt really "wrong" just young male.. jdm car... we will fine him! even such a law as "accelerating to fast" here now really lame.. the cops can choose they have nothing to measure this, big fines and 28day impounds go hard :/
anyways I owen a 1993 toyota Trueno GT Apex, im pleased with it altho iv been crashed into twice but a trusted panelbeater can do wounders. yea a gtz sounds best suted to your roads they were really common here (AE101's) but they are fading out and lots of AE111's are apearing lots of people dont give ae101 20v's credit but mines receved quite abit after proof, ill be out tonight rolling around but no racing for me cops are to hungry for such reaces also all my sound gear is in so its heavy. just looking at the pic nice ride... dont you guys have number plates? iv only got acouple ofpics non of how it is currently http://www.angelfire.com/mt/AceSniper/trueno837.jpg http://www.angelfire.com/mt/AceSniper/pic/leftside.jpg Last edited by AceNZ_20v4AGE; 10-16-2003 at 11:10 PM. |

(kinda change the subject of this thred sorry every 1) |
