ya man.. seriously thats awesome.. how much did it cost u?? its really cool... if u tell me how much it costed u ...may be we can make one for me and i will pay u thru pay pal... i also have a 95 gsx here are a few questions????

1) is the pipe which u used is better than stainless steel or its the same ???? i mean in performance wise...

2) are u using the stock down pipe or did u make a custome down pipe...

3) can we use a high flow cat with it??? caz i scare cops plus mine is just a daily driver will the high flow cat lower the performance than the no cat???

keep up the good work

my total cost for the exhaust was about $450.00.

the Down Pipe came from road race engineering

yes you can bolt a high-flow cat from RRE in place of the test pipe.

aluminized exhaust pipe wont rust like stainless, but doesnt look as nice( like i could give a shit about that), can be welded normally( wire feed/standard wire and gas, or oxy-acetelene) and is a shitload cheaper than SS.and i dont see why it wouldnt flow just as much as 3" SS.

my design isnt really shipper friendly, but was a fun weekend project for me and my cousin. if you want i can get you a list of the tools i used to build it.

i could do a quick video, of my car and its exhuast sound, but i dont know if i could host it here, and i dont have anywhere to put it. if someone else knows more about how to host things here (other than pics) let me know how. hope that helps.

Re: Re: custom exhaust?

i dont see why not, all you should need is a header, proper sized exhaust piping( to retain enough back pressure), muffler, high flow cat( if you want one), and the appropriate flanges, gaskets, and mounting hardware(or build your own). plus your tools. with proper planning it is a one day job if all goes well. feel free to ask me more specific questions if i dont know the answer i will help you find it.

Re: custom exhaust?

Thats the same exact way I did mine. Its been a year and 4 months now, still works great. Looks good Andy. If you get a video with sound I'll host it on POSR. It should sound exactly the same as mine. If you'd like I could also host your pics as a very basic faq of what we did. I have a long write up on RKO, but the pics are worth a thousand words.

The problem with doing a NT, or GST for that matter, is the number of bends required. They have to go over the rear axle, while this is not an issue with AWDs. Its a much straighter shot on the AWD, which is wy its so easy and economical to make the exhaust yourself like this.

Re: Re: custom exhaust?

ok i will get a video done of my exhaust, i can get some better more detailed photos of the exhaust to if you would like them. i should have taken some during the build process, but my shop wasnt heated and it was about 10 degrees outside so i wanted to get it done as fast as i could( i know pics only take a sec). but if you are going to build a faq for it and want my experience let me know i will right one up. how should i get the video to you email???

P.S. Kevin i like the qoute you added to your sig, it is a very true statement.

Re: custom exhaust?

I just realized that you put both 45s before the muffler to straighten it out. I put one before and one after, so the muffler is angled, bushur style. I like the look of yours. Hows ground clearance with it? Looks like its tucked up nice. Email shoukd be fine if its less than 3 megs or so.

95_GSX: where did you go to buy the flanges and gaskets? I just got my 2.5" aluminized steel from Summit yesterday and am in the process of taking lengths, bends etc. I want to build my new one with the same style flanges so when emissions comes due I canh bolt the cat in place of the Test Pipe. The rear section (axle back) flange can be whatever I find but I need the flanges that bolts to the DP. Let me know where you got yours and cost, part number etc. Thanks.

I will post pics of mine so the other NTers can see what it looks like.

i have RRE DP so i used their flanges and gaskets hit up there sight for the part #'s and prices. i think the gaskets are like $8 and i dont remember on the flanges. but that is for 3" exhaust. which is way to big for a N/A car.

i dont have any problems with ground clearence it is in the exact same location as the stock one was. the only time i drag is if my front end gets drastically higher than my rear( wyomings riducoulas curbs, and it has only happened one in 2 1/2 months) and its the "straight" part of my exhaust that dragged(actually a flange). no big deal though it was right after i got it on, live and learn. but i would guess since i am still at stock height i have about 3-4"s of clearence on flat ground.

Kevin: I will try and get a video done and edited for length and emailed to you in the next week or so. thanks. hit me up for anything you need for that FAQ.
