And apparently it folds up for easy storage, AND can fit right under the bed.

Taken from their website:

"Because safety is such a concern for small cars in particular, we have designed the Tango around a roll cage that meets or exceeds both SCCA and NHRA regulations. These are racing organizations that specify cage design to protect the occupants of cars crashing at over 200 mph. In addition, the extremely high strength-to-surface area ratio of a steel roll cage allows superb visibility from within the Tango. Rollover too is a great danger for many vehicles. The Tango, being so narrow, would look to the layman's eye to be unstable. But in fact, the Tango has stability that exceeds that of most sport cars."

And as for handling, who would think a car this narrow could compete? All the people we beat at the autocross!
The fact that they don't actually mention concrete numbers worries me.

It reminds me of the Zenn somewhat, and that is a bad thing. Though the Zenn is slower (and legally, a motorcycle) it is still small and electric. We sat in one at Comdex and it was SCARY. The door only weighed about a pound and a half, and superglue residue was visible everywhere.

Whoa, that's weird, how did you get a totally different light source to shine on the car only, without casting a shadow?

The "trees" are the reflection of the plants in the tank and the different light source is my UberMegaTron Monitor

Ok not really, it was for a photoshop contest, put your car in some place unusual.

What I'd like to know is, what kind of car was it they used for the honeymoon part of the movie "Just Married." I I got the biggest laugh out of that!

I'd be scared to death to make a turn at anything over 5 MPH in that thing!

If you go to their website, www.commutercars.com, you can look for the vid they have of the car autocrossing.

Well I saw that...car..if you'll call it that...and it's definately a beast. Looking at this Tech TV article:

http://www.techtv.com/news/print/0,2...386884,00.html

You'll noticed they compare this Tengo to a Doge Viper! Furthermore, the car does 0-60 in less than 4 secs. As if that wasn't fast enough, compare your sports car to it! It pulls 12 sec 1/4s! Imagine going to the track and losing to a car 36" (3') wide?! Hopefully you're not suicidal, otherwise you'd better hold your head in shame.

Like all good things, there are a few bad things...number two on the list is the battery...it's only estimated to live for 2500 charges. Since the battery is about 1000 lbs. you'll pay a fortune in shipping, let alone the battery.

More importantly, and number one on the list is the cost. You'd think that for a 8'6 x 3'0 x 5'0 you'd pay around 20K-30K tops...but it's a bit higher...to the tune of $80,000!!!

EDIT: Another bad thing is mods...where would you buy them? And more importantly, WHAT would you mod?

My opinion: If you have nothing but money to burn, or you want a car everyone will look at you for, or if you want the ULTIMATE sleeper, buy it

If you have any sanity whatsoever: Laugh at the prospect of buying it and hope you never come to a stoplight with one.

It's just another one of the great uses of AF. It works as a light source too.
