the only mitsu i would consider (besides the all-mighty EVO 1-7) is the 1st gen eclipse turbo, awd...4G motor is the next best thing after the SR!!

Luke!!!! Your on crack. VR4's are fucken bloated pig's There not fast at all. I was sticking one dead even N/A on the freeway in my 200 Back in the day when I had CAI,exhaust, header, ecu.

Personally if I could start all over with the same amount of $$$$ to spend I would get a S13 240SX with a Built Silvia motor and a Indestructible 300ZX TT Tranny.

Skyline GTRs are heavy as hell too!!! just like the 3000GT VR4...however, a NA 3000GT is a glutton pig...those things are so freaking slow it's not even funny..should be illegal making those things.
if only the WRX was available in 1999...

of course some one had to start in on the coveted Skyline.......

True it is heavy, but it is also a four door sedan in N/A trim. In turbo trim it is a 2 door. The only heavy Skyline is the R34, and we all know it can keep up with the 2K1 Corvette............

I still love my G.

Dude sometimes I think we were born of the same mother! I told the Subaru dealer straight up, before I bought my G, that if the WRX was available right now he would have sold a car. The RS2.5 didn't really impress me all that much.

I too test drove a 2.5RS last October when I was looking for something other than my automatic G20, but they weren't quite fast enough... I really like the styling, and the AWD would be very nice too, but they didn't have enough grunt (and aftermarket support at the time, in the US) So i decided on my current G20. I figured a 2.5rs would need a turbo kit to be very quick, i already know about he SR20, i could turbo the G20 and make it just as fast as the 2.5, and i know about SR20's, so it would be MUCH easier to modify the G. I just wish at the time the 2.5RS had an optional EJ20 but then i guess it wouldn't be the 2.5RS and it would be the WRX. DOH!

while the 3000gt and the dodge steaths are heavy they have more then ample power to make up for it. and with all wheel drive, all wheel steering there pretty sweet at high speed crusin. If you beat a 3000gt it wasnt turbo thats for sure my friends rt/tt will bet a vettes and mustangs like there nothin im sure it would have no prob taken a 200sx

Well, the reason I got my G was because of its combination of practicality, reliability and low cost of ownership.

In a word ... HANDLING.

handling is key. When I came back from VA BCH this past weekend a guy in a camero wanted to race. I know that I can't out accelerate him but I could out maneuver him any day. I kinda obliged, showed him that my car can out handle him with its eye closed, and slowed back down to cruising speed. THAT was fun. All I need my baby to have now is a turbo and I'll be able to lay down the smacketh to almost any camero.

that's what i was thinking. the 3kgt vr-4 with intake and this thingy yogs told me about can make 400hp and keep up with a skyline. but the main problem is handeling. not like i'm gonna be racing thou. i'd probably get a 1995-97 (2nd gen) 3kgt. but i saw a g20 today and it looked pretty nice. i'm also kinda diggin those new Tuscanis that Hyundai is making.
