No tip = No attention from cops or ricers searching for a street race.

Its your call.. I totally love mine with no tip at all, just the 2.5" piping bent around like stock, but if you do want some bling, then get the muffler shop to weld it on for you when you get the piping done.
(you'll need some after the muffler anyway so it will reach around and come out the stock hole)

I'm guessing that an electric cut-out is like an exhaust bypass so that you can run the car with no muffler whenever you want by flipping a switch or something... Good idea, wouldn't mind doing that myself...

Dude stock style mufflers are the way to go, anything such as flowmaster, magnaflow, dynomax, and those style mufflers are far superior to the bomb mufflers or whatever. Straight through mufflers are just newfangled glasspacks, they're nothing special. I actually have a pacesetter cat back on my car, the sound is absolutely perfect and gets better everyday. I've cut flowmasters and pacesetters and magnaflows open before, and they're all just about identical inside, and the tone is soo much deeper and smoother than straight through muffs.

BTW to anyone who buys a pacesetter cut that damn tip that it comes with straight off there and get a good one or none at all, that tip that is on there is actually designed so that the inner sleeve of the tip vibrates and makes noise. but other than that it's a damn good exhaust system.

yeah electric cutouts bypass your muffler, you can get cable operated ones too they're a little cheaper.

Just go to a car shop and buy a peformance muffler that looks like the stock one, but with 2.25" inlet and outlet, and then get an exhaust shop to just bend it all to look stock. Thats what I did for my setup, but I used 2.5" cat, piping, and muffler. The muffler is a Dynomax Super Turbo, it was like less than $50 (american), and I just told the shop I want it to look totally stock. Its looks great with no tip or anything flashy, and it was nice and cheap.
Siz,
I did the same thing in case my description wasn't clear and I love it. Even my buddy who's gone thru two Mustang's (GT's) & currently owns a BMW 325is says he likes how my car sounds. "ya know, I hate all these damn ricers with those big-ass chrome mufflers, but yours sounds awesome for a li'l 4-banger...i think that is the best sounding setup i've heard on a Honda"

I'll snap some pics today and try to load them up while I am waiting on the Direct TV guy

Thumbs up my exhaust pics

OK dudes...The Direct TV guy tells me I have too many trees, but they'll be back cuz I will find a hole for the satellite.

In the meantime here are my exhaust pics...The O.D. is 2.25"

Muffler - - -

Tailpipe - - - (except for the size, it looks stock!!)

Cat connection - - - notice lack of resonator and that fat pipe!!

Oh....and since my DSL isn't hooked up yet I had to upload these from dial-up - so thank me

I got it from a small place called "Jims speed shop" in a small town.
My price is average, $110 for a freakin' muffler is CRAZY.

sastanley - Thanks for the pics.. It looks a LITTLE different then mine, but not much.. Maybe its just the angle of the pictures..
Nice stock looking setup though!

Thumbs up

yeah man thanks....I debated for a long time about a SS Thermal system which is what I really wanted, but they are almost $400 and then you have to install the damn thing. I think I paid around $250 for this setup at the local Meineke, including install...The muffler itself is some generic "turbo" muffler and it was about $45 or so, and then the $$ for labor and pipes & bending/welding etc...
Sorry the pics are a little hard to see everything, esp. with the trailer hitch in the way. My new driveway isn't paved yet either, so I have a soft bed of rocks which I am smashing down to make a nice bed for the blacktop, if the builder ever comes back and finishes that shit

i'm ordering the muffler today...itz $67 w/ free shipping....i already have 2.25" piping, so i'll just have to get it installed and pipe bent for the tip and i'll probably get a tip from pep boys...like the chrome ones that go on top of the exhaust tip that you don't have to weld on....

NOOOOOOOOOOO! They're ugly, they non-functional, and since they aren't even SS, they rust.
