I have to agree, I am new to the scene and I like the fact that guys are willing to share there blood sweat and tears. It is very valuable information and will probably only be used by the one or two percent who are actually going to turn a wrench on their car. So thanks in advance for the info.

I bought my 1989 240sx($1300) AND swapped in an RB25DET from a 96 Skyline GTS-T(3300 inc shipping & 3"catback exhaust) for around $5000.00 but I did all the installation and wiring myself, had a one piece driveshaft made up to handle 600HP($400) and had all the paint & materials donated from PPG. BFGoodrich Comp T/A's donated by my wheel shop, East Coast Tire. It is not all that expensive when you do the work yourself, which I am willing to do for others also. I was a little interested to see where they got their motor from though considering that 6 people on another forum have had clips on order for about 3 months from that outfit without delivery.

Anyone who hears about the skyline having similar engine mounts and engine space would have thought about the swap. Ricer or not. So the only people this really makes want to do it a lot more are the people who will be working on their own cars IMO. All the people who don't work on their own cars and are in most peoples opinions "followers" will be just as likely to get or not to get an rb in their 240.

If you work on your own car and do most of your own mods you aren't a ricer even if your car looks rice, that's just poor taste and bad style. Honda or not...if you do your own work then you aren't a ricer. I still think more people will do the SR swap because most people into that want to be as close to jspec as possible.

OH and ricers won't be doing swaps FTMP in the first place. The only thing this makes them do is make them put little RB25 stickers on their windows rather than SR20. Ricers won't consider spending 10k on a mod that doesn't change the look of the car...

LOL, just let the posers be. It'll be settled on the track. I'm always hearing that people with their crazy sr20det motors are crashing their cars. Then they say it was the car's fault. ERRR wrong, human error. Most of these people need to learn how to drive first. Oh well, be patient, prices will go down.

Wa Wa Wa

Thats all I see on this forum anymore. Everyone is too busy flaming newbies or talking about how kiddies are doing this and that. The point is that import motorsports have come a long way and yeah, now its mainstream crap. But thats just something you have to deal with. As a previous Honda tuner I felt the pain more than any. Some idiot puts some nozzle lights and a flashing muffler on their 89 4dr civic and thinks its a frickin race car. Just because most of those people dont have any real performance on their cars doesnt mean that every honda is a "ricecar". So what if SSC puts an article about an RB swap in their mag. If you have the time, patients and skill to pull it off then you get respect in my book. If your a "kiddie" and you get it done, then more power to you! Just take solice in the fact that you are in the know and dont bother with the mainstream bullsh*ters that pull on your bumper in their moms modded minivan!
