you do know if you get pulled over and have to pop your hood, you get sent to the ref if you have non-carb legal parts on it right? I'd rather not to have to deal with ref fees then ticket fees if i get pulled over.

a cop would need to have reasonable cause to perform a search in order to pop my hood ... ive been pulled over many times with the intake installed and not once asked to pop my hood or even had comments about my exahust.

well good for you. i agree if you arent getting pulled over a lot and only have an intake to swtich out for smog then go for a cheaper one. personally when im do my car up a little bit more, and if i am still living in cali, then i am not going to wanna hassle switching stuff every two years. But I dont really plan on staying in cali, so i might have some carb legal stuff not on my car. The aem cai w/ bypass vavle i got one hell of a deal on or else i woulda used the rs akimoto short ram i just picked up before i got offered the aem

oh and i have gotten a ticket for my exhaust, so im a lil more careful when it comes to cops.

got a ticket for modified exhaust, cop said i wasnt supposed to have anything other than stock. it is the cops decision if its able to be written off or not and mine wasnt able to so i just paid it off.

little bit before i signed up for AF .... i just checked my stack of warning tickets (got three of em in a 5 month period lol) and the first time I was ever pulled in the civic was on july 1, 02 and that was cause I was doin 39 in a 30. Cop didnt mention shit about the clears or exhaust like i thought he would have ... didnt have the intake yet though.

I got a real ticket too in it for runnin a red light in august 2002 but i just went to court and got it reduced and did traffic school so im all good ... lately i been drivin kinda stupid though cause its summertime so hopefully i slow down and be careful ... or at least not get another real ticket cause that shit will go on my record.

Yeah the laws are quite out of hand it seems....i got pulled over for my exhaust once and got it checked and it was easily over the limit but he just gave me a warning but my friend a couple weekends ago got a ticket pulling into the local hangout area just for having a modified exhaust. And all he has is a magnaflow muffler and its not even that loud.

i aint really a cop hater or anything either ... i still feel the last 2 warnings i got were harassment though, like when i accidently squealed em coming out of autozone, or when my lic plate light was burned out
