Good to see so many people respect/like this car! Well thankyou to the people who do because your the only ones making me post these progress reports (which I am enjoying) here. I just thought I'd share two pictures of the chrome trim done on the car. This thing used a shitload of masking tape




I'm making the photos smaller by 150 pixels. Tell me if it works better!

Thanks, cool a fellow Aussie! Without a doubt you've seen or read about Rod Hadfields 'Final Objective'? That was the car I was thinking of doing but I realised there's no way to do that paint job he has. You can't appreciate a true Street machine until you have seen that thing in person Pity he is selling it to some guy in the USA ( ) after he tours Australia with it.

the 55 is a lot nicer than the 57 ,must have been a bit of work in lowering it though .looking foward to seeing it finished
i cant think of one classic european muscle car that was affordable to the average working person ,sure they had there exotic cars but you cant really modify them ,maybee
thats why they seem to be mostly interested in tunners

Here's a couple of pictures of the body with lights glass and chrome done. A picture of the half done interior and a picture of the recent damage . I was superglueing the grille on but the superglue ran out onto the body, I did my best to save it but now I will have to repaint that area, which will be a pain to mask all that stuff off and keep the paint thin so it isn't uneven. Any ideas to fix it are greatly welcomed and appreciated! I knew I wouldn't be able to get through this without something bad happening.

Hey man....don't sweat it, sorry about your paint. Oh yeah, to the point, you said the driveshaft doesnt fit from therear end to the tranny? Well cut the universal joints off the driveshaft you have and cut a piece of tree to fit but make it like shorter by a cm or a cm and half and glue the universals onto each end and then paint it and it should work greatly. As for brakes, but really ? I've posted car pics without brakes no one seems to care. Maybe if you post up a pick of the underchassis I can give some advice of how to clean it up and make it look good. But it's up to you. Nice build, keep up great work

And 454SS, about the driveshaft or brakes really, people don't see the undercarriage anyway, I'm just going to have some shiny exhaust going through there, thats about all. The diff is too short to reach the rear wheels but i don't give a shit honestly. Saves time and effort if you don't do all that crap anyway

This will be the last update on the `55 for a few days, I'm going to finish the Camaro. I need to get it done by the end of the week. I just thought I'd show a quick picture of the now 75% fixed Damage.

Thanks Malcolm, it's only a simple job but I hope it doesn't go wrong, just to top off that corner of the body with everything that has gone wrong

The wheels aren't currently connected but the front wheels will be glued onto the proper suspension but the back ones will probably just be jammed in, they don't budge when I just shove them up in those guards, needs to be tubbed

hey nice work its lookin real good. i am working on a 55 myself , i have a lot of work to do yet it is my dads model but i am finishing it since he stoped building it about 30 years ago now he is 54 and doesnt do models anymore i am 14 so i am finishing all the models he never finished but anyways about the 55, he had it lookin like the old gaser style and the back wheel wells were cut out so i had an old 64 chevy parts body that i have been waiting to use so i got the back wheel well s of of that and i put them to the 55 and now the chassis dont fit cuz the wheels are too wide so i have to shorten the metal axel and yes its a metal rod real old school car lol. so if that dont work i have no clue wut ima do and the roof was broken off so i cut off all the posts and smooth everything out and wut i'm goin to do is just put a window in without posts which i think will look neat but i hafta find a wintshield to fit the car since i dont have a lot of parts for it i dont have the front splah pan nor the back pan so it's probably gonna be in black primer as an old junker so idk yet wut i'm really goin to do if u have anyideas let me know also look on the first page and look at my 49 mercury and 50 ford convertible.
