Car and Driver found the Lingenfelter Viper to be faster than the Hennessy 650R and TNT King Snake. I haven't got all of my mags yet, but I will check to see if the 800 is faster.
That Stryker is somthin else!!!! I might be worried about traction, though

I would be more worried about breaking axels and driveshafts then traction.

Lingenfelter Viper
0-60 3.9
Top speed. 200 mph
1/4 mile 11.4 sec
HP : 682
torque : 580 ft lbs
weight: 3460 lbs

Hennessey 800
0-60 3.1
Top speed: 230
1/4 mile: 10.2
HP: 800
torque: 800 ft lbs
And I'd imagine weight would be similar.

Hennessey 650 R
0-60 3.3
Top speed: 207
1/4 mile: 11.2
HP: 650
torque: 650 ft lbs
weight: 3250

These are my figures...looks like the 650 should be faster....a little less hp, but much more torque and less weight.

Uh, Car and Driver had a 725 hp Viper, and it was much faster than 3.9 seconds. It was red.

I am amazed that you would comment on the Viper's mileage. FYI, the Viper can get 23 mpg in 6th gear, but no one ever uses 6th gear (I have been in 6th gear less than 10 times in the 4 years that I have owned my GTS Coupe). You forgot to mention that the Lamborghini Diablo cannot be used as a daily driver, because clutches only last 4k miles and cost over $5k to replace (or that the major tune ups costs $25k).

To me that's pretty sad when a car costs $275k, performs like a Viper and depreciates like a lead balloon.

viper 10, what kind of a job do you have to be able to afford a viper? How old are you? Did you lease it, buy it, or take out a big loan?

Twidge:

I have been in the hi-tech sales arena for quite a long time. I'm in my mid-40's and I put aside moeny for this car and paid it off about a year and a half after I bought it. I don't lease cars that I intend to keep. I plan on giving this car and my '85 Corvette to my kids. I do plan on buying a Viper Coupe when the new ones come out (or a comparable car...especially if Bob Lutz is behind it at GM). That car will go to my third kid. All they have to do is graduate college and they get some pretty nice cars. I am a perfect example of an average guy that worked my butt off after college, who never lost site of my passions.

I am in the process of getting out of the sinking hi-tech industry and starting an exotic car related business. It's time to follow my passions, and not worry about money.

Chris, sorry my initials aren't CC (they are BC).

Take care.

Don't sweat the small things in life. The world has got bigger worries right now. Say some prayers for the victims and their families of the WTC and Pentagon tragedies. Say another prayer for our leaders.

God bless America.

Any of u guys heard of SKIP BARBER DRIVING SCHOOL? Thats where i went 2 winters ago. I got to drive a 99 Viper GTS. I must say that is one hell of a car, one punch of the throttle and your head gets pinned to the back of teh head rest. We did a little auto-X and that was a whole lot of fun. The real wheels almost spun around on me during a turn. MAN WHAT A RUSH~ I have videos of me driving it, i wish i could find it though.
