I think the thread makes perfect sense .. in the 87-93 model years on the Mustang, you had the Mustang GT, and the Mustang LX .. but you could get the LX with the 5.0 V8 in it, even tho it looked like a base model V6. All GT's had the V8. As for the Firebird line, the Formula is the only one that looks like the base model, and even it has some differences. Wouldn't you have liked to have had a "stripper" model, all V6 interior, with the HI-PO LS1 in it?

If that bothers you so much then you'll be happy to know the base Pontiac GTO, comes with a 5.7L V8. There is no V6 option for the GTO, probably because the GTO has never had an option of anything less then 8-cylinders, and they want to keep it that way.

Funny no one has mentioned it, but if you look back at the Firebirds history you would know that in 67-68 the FIREBIRDS had V8s and thats before the Trans Am even came out in 69. And only the Firehawk had the 335-345hp option (345hp in 02 due to the new airlid that SLP came out) along with the SS that couldve been ordered with the same package, the WS6s remained the same 325hp. And the Z28s Formulas/TAs were rated at 305 in 98-00, then to 315 on 01-02 models due to them receiving an LS6 intake, special cam and no egr.
I swear this place is filled with nothing but misinformation

Oh and also the reason why they made them V6s is because V6s is what made up most of the sales.

That looks like a similar rant I've made before trying to prove that the SS has the same hp options as the Firehawk, nice job my friend...
