Hello, thanks for all the comment.
finally have little progress, sorry for slow progress due to busy weeks.

Primed and check for flaws. still need putty work.

side vent done, need some minor sanding.

Putty again, sand and reprimed, still some rough surface.

more sanding and primed.

thats all for now, all comment are welcome.

Have either of you chosen a color? Also will you be going with or without a stripe, and which wheels?

Re: Scuderia 16M, feat Autodecepticon & khngmy

Hi guys, I’m experimenting a new way to fill the gap left by cutting…thanks to a fellow friend of mine, Bombervince in suggesting this idea to me…I used talcum powder and CA glue mixture to fill the gap, when the CA glue dried, I sanded the surface smooth…still need to prime and check for errors…

The materials needed: CA glue and talcum powder…

I mixed the CA glue and talcum powder until the consistency looks like a paste. Then, I applied the mixture on the front end to fill the gap…

The good thing about this method is that the CA glue dries a lot quicker than any putty available, and sanding work can be done as soon as the glue dried…Also, I think it is easier to sand, as compared to the putty I used before. Here’s the picture of the sanded front end of the F430 coupe…

Here goes the closer view of the filled area.

Same method applied on the Scuderia 16M, as you can see, the consistency is a little watery and gel-like, easy to apply as compared to putty…

First round of sanding after CA glue dried…

That’s all for now…thanks for reading!

Nice update!
So what is your thought on the baby powder trick now that you have done it?
I saw a youtube video recently on this concept. I think I will be trying this.

Awesome work, keep it up!!!

Thanks Andy. Well, I can't really tell how good it is until I prime and check the body for errors, but a friend of mine tested it and it works just fine! pretty low cost method too.. Overall it's fast-drying and easy-sanding alternative to putty, but too bad it cannot replace putty as we can't shape it like putty, so it can only be used to fill the gap..

Re: Scuderia 16M, feat Autodecepticon & khngmy

Can see you using this method very well, you may still find some tiny holes after priming, u can then apply CA glue direct to the hole with tooth pic, then sand smooth again.

the good thing of this method is that the mixture will not shrink like normal putty after we spray the paints.

I have experience where the puttied areas shrink after i spray the paints.

Re: Scuderia 16M, feat Autodecepticon & khngmy

Thanks for all the comments guys!

It’s my turn to update the progress on Scuderia 16M and the F430 coupe, still focusing on shaping and sanding the body smooth, as well as creating the panel lines gone missing after joining the front end and the body.

As mentioned by Vince, after filling the gap with CA glue and baby powder, there are some holes seen after priming the body, so I filled the holes with CA once again and sanded them smooth. Working on both cars in a row can be tiring especially when you have lots of sanding to be done.

Side vents and the sink marks on rear engine hood of the spider body were filled with white putty.

More and more sanding before re-scribing the panel lines

Primed the body and using a piece of plastic sheet as a guide, I re-scribed the panel lines on the front hood for the Scuderia 16M and the F430 coupe.

Primed both cars again, errors on the hood were marked…more attention needed to make the body perfect and ready for paint. Wheel arc on the left side of Scuderia 16M was not curvy enough, more sanding and reshaping needed.

Closer look to the panel lines on both cars:

As you can see from the picture, I still have to work on the panel lines of the Scuderia 16M, especially the right side of the car.

That’s all for now, thanks for watching
