Re: Bmw r75/5

Very nice job Iceracer, it seems real but..... please don't leave that exhaust green....
I usually paint clear blu, clear violet an clear yellow. If you paint orange over blu it comes out green whic is very unrealistic. This shoul be a pity....

Well I'm colorblind so never saw it was green.... And now the exhaust is already glued to the engine I can't start it over.

Re: Bmw r75/5

Because the exhausts were just to green, I decided to remove the paint and do it again. This time I used clear blue, clear yellow and a bit of clear red. Looks much better now I think.

Re: Bmw r75/5

Huge update guys:

First I started with the wheels. I used 0.7mm wire for the spokes and silicontube for the nipples. I cutted some sleeves in the wheels and drilled some holes in the center. That was the easiest way I think.

Than the hardest part.... painting the wheels. First I painted the wheeltrims in black. The center was painted aluminium. I tried to not hit the spokes with paint. After drying I glued the halves together. This was very hard to do so I used a lot of clamps for this job. Unfortanately there is still a little gap between the halves but it was straight glued. I think the wheels are not 100% straight.

Now I could paint the black part with Polished Aluminium with alclad paint. With some thinner I removed the paint from the spokes. After this was done I could fix the tyres on the wheels and add the other wheel parts.

I'm really happy with the result, it was a hard job for a first time

No on to the bike. I added the triangle parts after repainting them in alclad chrome. The original chrome was to shiny.

On the seat I had to add a decal:

Now I could fix the wheels on the frontfork and rearlink. On the rearwheel I had a problem. The exhaust was already placed but it was impossible to fix the wheelnuts. So i had to remove the exhaust again... I also added the rearlight and indicators. The rearlight was placed with real hexabolts which are also used on the engine.

Also added the hoses and wiring.

The fueltank is also finished. I removed the original chrome and painted it with alclad chrome. I filled up the black stripes and added the BMW logo. And I gave it a drup of clear for the finishing touch

Meanwhile it's finished for 99,9%. I only need to paint the numberplate and place it.

Kris.
