Re: 12 out of 36: Ferrari 166MM Barchetta LM'49 Winner

Lovely job, Alex. Really

I'll definitely be weathering mine now to cover my crappy work compared to yours! (I'm thinking major crash damage with maybe a touch of burning thrown in for good measure )

Great job Alex, particularly like the seats and interior details. Put your feet up now, have a rest.

Cheers,
Lee

Looks great. You did alot of work on those seats. The UMI model does have great seats and a body done by Paul Fisher. Its the UMI chassis that is not very good.

You need to put the oil tank on the passenger side. It is rather large and aluminum.

Gorgeous! I love the second windscreen, and that they fold up and down. Amazing building. What was the purpose on the 1:1? That is just stunning model making.

Tom, do you have good pics of the tank? I wanted to scratch it, but couldn't find pics to figure out exact shape. Also, I can see one pipe coming out of the tank - were there other connections? Let me know if you have info.

They were additional bug/stone screens. I think some of the cars had mesh instead of glass there.

Thanks guys!

I have a photo, but cannot post it here. I will scan it and pm you.
The restored car had the oil tank when it was displayed at Pebble Beach a few years ago. You might be able to find color photos of that.

Wow, looks like I?m in delay also just seeing , sorry I got few days offline now: superb job Alex! TBH I don't agree on the horrible kit, sure it has much things not engineered and left to the modeler, and sure it isn't a kit for novice, and sure some fitting isn't good, and sure the shape.... and sure the seats... and sure... OMG... does this mean that it is horrible??...

and... sure..... this kit has a wrong kind of frame!!!!! This is the thing that make me upset more!!!!
