You can get a CA18DET with almost everything for $900 USD
http://www.jspecauto.com/ I'm ordering one in the near future, $1800ish Canadian to my door on the west coast. Honda engines are overpriced bigtime. If you're going for pure performance, I'd say strip that car down to NOTHING, then look at your pwer to weight ratio and the costs and results of a few different options. Most cost effective solution is probably a swap, even though they're expensive. I don't know about that specific engine, but most Hondas aren't great for boosting, and you can always do that later with a larger engine and make more power. |

im sure with an auto though it's prolly pretty close to how much power my car currently has. an rb engine is my choice. i want one BAD.... EDIT: i really don't think it matters which road you take, the amount of money you put into it is almost exactly equal to how fast your car is. either engine swap, n/a mods, whatever choice you take you'll get there about the same.

Yeah, Nissans have cheap turbocharged engines you can swap in. To turbocharge a honda, you'd need to drop a lot of money on parts and engine management hardware.
Getting 160hp out of that engine isn't hard though, just get a set of high compression pistons, some cams, have the head ported, get a header, and then have a chip made to take advantage of your engine timing.
