take it back to the painters dude. get them to fix up the paint and put some clearcoat on it.

yah, i think if you bake it, you can wax it within a day or so. make sure you take out your misc electronics out before they bake it because those will reach 85C.

Correct me if I am wrong. But if they were to bake it, they would need to completly strip your car of anything but the metal.

No they dont have to strip the car.......when i had mine done they drove it into a big shed and used powerful heat lamps that are all around the walls etc. Dont know what temp it gets do but it wont harm anything else.
They then leave the car in there for a few hours to "bake"

Did they use a clear coat? If they did they may have messed up the mixture. A painter at the shop I work at messed up a clear coat one time and seriously screwed up the parts and they had to be re-painted. Anyway if the paint was soft after you got it out of the shop you should have never taken it. Either way if you take it back to the paint shop they should fix it for free and if they don't...sue them. What ever you do, DO NOT WAX your car unless the paint has cured, it takes 6 months to cure so don't try to wax the spots out. You may want to try a polymer base polish. I'll ask our painter tommorrow about what you should do.

To make the paint dry they don't need to "bake" it. At longest it should take 2 days to dry completely, 2 days at the most. For a complete paint job on a car I think the it should sit in a paint booth which is heated at about 90f degrees.

The baking is only done to harden the paint up so that what is being talked about does not happen.
