I've been thinking the same thing.

I liked the way that one Accord that had the taillights similar to the NSX, then all of a sudden like 2 years and there is this new one? Wtf that was a good looking Accord this new one just looks so bland and boring.

Anyone have a pic of this car? Too lazy to search for one.

Hyundai got in trouble because they were saying some of their cars have more horsepower than they do. The Tiburon was one of those cars. So, yes, it is overrated.
I just don't get why an auto manufacture would overrate their car other than to try and boost sales. At the end of the day underrating them would be better.

The new Accords are kinda strange, but the newer (02?) Civic Si is hideous. Who the thought this would be a car that anyone would want? It looks like a miniature minivan!!! And correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they slower than the older Si?

Cheers. It certainly doesn't look special to me, as a matter of fact looks more like a family sedan than a sports cars.

actually, they run basically identical 1/4 mile times if that is wut u mean. the extra displacement meant that honda could get a little more torque than the joke of a b16 (only calling the torque of the motor a joke).

both run around mid-high 15's stock, but with a better driver, then of course either could do better...

I have to say though, I kind of like how the rear of the new accord coupe looks a lot like the rear of the new mercedes SL. Look at a picture of both side by side and you will know what I mean.

Your the Joke

There has been a lot of mix reviews about the new tibbys. I speak for the new tiburons because I own one. I have no complains with the tiburons. Oh wait, 1st of all I use to own an 98 integra(modded), then moved on to the 2000 celica gts. I liked my CELI, I didn't have much complains about it. When the new Tiburons came out it caught my eye. It looks great. It looked more masculan than a celica. I test drove the Tibby with no expectations and as soon as I started the ignition I was impress. The car has torque and a nice small v6 sound. It turns great, better than my former Celi... To make things short, test drive one and compare it to it's competitors and you'll know what I am talking about.
Once I broke 3k miles on it I took it to the track here in San Diego. It wasn't a full 1/4. It was 1/8. My first 3runs were sloppy cause my reaction wasn't there so I was doing10.2's and .3's. on my fourth run to the seventh run I was hitting 9.8's and 9.9's. I was very happy with that considering it is stock.
I picked my races on the freeway against the new eclipse and rsx. Killed all. I've pick my races with wrx sti and of course I got killed. I've raced 2 wrx's already and it was both great races. I've be beating them all the way to id third gear and they'd pass me(of course their charger would kicks in).
Over all it's a GREAT car, nice lookin too. It's a great car for the bucks. I can't wait in a few months to mod with super charger. I can't wait for those wrx drivers faces when I am in front of them the whole time!!!!!
So you all can talk trash about the new tiburon but I am one guy to prove anyone wrong about it. They bang for the bucks is great. If you put as much money as you would put in a WRX or EVO's, The Tiburons would be killin.
FYI, The Tiburons have been champions on RALLY's, beating WRX and the EVO'S. That's the reason why I went to the hyundai dealer, I wanted to see the hype. I don't regret trading in my Celica GTS at all.

Re: Tiburon GT V6

now me as a guy who's dating a girl whom drives a 2nd gen tib has to defend it...

Hyundai over rated the horsepower on the tib the elantra and such by 5 hp... It was not even their idea for a marketing scheme, something with their dyno was off for some reason...

the 2nd gens (the one i'm familiar with) are pretty quick, they are light and have 140hp (i believe) and that's not bad for a 4cyl. The price was awesome too. all decked out, every option for 18k. You can't beat that. The look i think is better in the 2nd gens because it is the closest to the shark (tiburon means shark in portugese) and it get's good gas mileage... (not great mind you, but good... 26)
I am not a fan of the 3rd gens because i think hyundai was trying to copy the mustang, celica, eclipse, etc in their visual design. it looks too... um... *don't mean to offend here* pansy. look at the front of a 01 and a 03 and IMO it is much more menacing to look at.
The v6 is only 170hp which makes you kinda sad inside considering my v6 puts out 210 stock. (man, imagine 210 hp in those 3rd gens.... sexy)
The tib responds very well to mods (i like to call it hyundai's fox body) no matter what year you want to touch, there's a small but growing aftermarket for it) and they are dependable. The only thing we've had to do was replace the radiator cap (under warranty) and she's had it since 01. When the next gen model comes out i'll end up buying it because i want another rwd car with an excellent warranty. Anyone whom says "oh it's a hyundai... all hyundai's are garbage" are idiots because i know more honda owners that have had some serious problems than i do any hyundai owners.

And after looking at the new honda line, i'll retract my statement on the 3rd gen... they loook a hell of a lot better than the new honda line of cars (s2000 not included)

Re: Your the Joke

you do know though that the celica is faster than the v6 tib (vip can back me up on that) he ran a 8.99 or something like that in the 1/8 mile and has raced a new gen celica and beat them.....

it looks better than the celica, but it's not faster
