July Issue? You mean year 2010 issue? as it is only May now. And so this is the #145 issue?

Sorry bout the noob question as I've just registered here. Big fans of McLaren F1 and this forum is a great site for McLaren F1 related infos.

So that would make it the next issue inbound (if its not out already). EVO's website has 144 as its latest (with the road racer cover featuring amongst other things the 430 Scuderia).

Far from not wanting to include Flemke's F1, the very opposite was true. We'd asked him if we could run a major feature on his car in this issue, detailing all the work he's had done. After giving it some thought, he eventually declined. Which was absolutely fair enough.
The message then reached our art desk that Flemke didn't want his car featured in the issue. The art editors, acting in good faith, took this at face value and excluded the specific shot that had been taken of the front of Flemke's car.
It was a simple misunderstanding, and if it has caused Flemke or anyone else to think worse of us, then we regret that deeply. We are massively appreciative of the help he has given us in previous issues and we sincerely hope that he will consider working with us again in the future.

It seems the idea that flemke didn't want a multi-page "feature" was conflated with the idea that he didn't want his car featured at all, or to have any distinct appearance, in the magazine.

I think this can happen with anyone, but the confusing blend of self-deprecation and pride, of understanding and biting criticism that flemke has may have added to the magazine getting their footwork tangled.

I think Patrick's question is centered more around why flemke said no to the new feature.

There's some discussion of that on PistonHeads as well from him, but rather than any one of us trying to paraphrase his comments, I'd suggest anyone who is interested in finding the answer begin reading his posts on this page of the current 'Flemke - is this your McLaren?' thread over there.

In the Gordon Murray article on page 092 (ones that got away) it mentions about a car that I've had never heard about before - the 1996 McLaren PGTB that had was a 2+2 mid-engined one off special built for the Sultan of Brunei and was powered by the McLaren F1's V12 - does anybody have any further information or pictures of this car?

It was certainly news to me.

I've never seen basman007 make any mention of it and he's the Brunei expert, so I am going to say that nothing else exists in the public domain.
