I'm sorry the previous solutions were so far off. The Integra (as most cars) has an overflow tank, where coolant will flow into if the car is overheating. Otherwise it should only be about half full (the "MAX FILL" line). Unfortunately, if your radiator is leaking at all, either from the top or the bottom, you should replace it as soon as possible. You can tell if it has been leaking for a while if there are green crystals around the seals. Even though your thermostat may say your car is not overheating, it is still very possible because the thermostat is near the top of the radiator, and it may not read correctly if there is not a lot of fluid in the radiator. Also, the slow leaks can suddenly turn into a large leak--that means your engine goes and $$$. Radiator replacement is very common on Integras. I had to do it on my 94 Integra last year. Luckily, it's not very expensive. Hope this helps.

If you have nothing to offer, I suggest finding another thread.
I suggest that some people learn how to read dates on the posts!

Re: A quick Radiator Question

if you need a new radiator, this place has great deals, cheap prices, about 1/3 price of oem , and have 1 year, to lifetime warranties. www.1800radiator.com you can pick em up as soon as tomorrow.. they sell for about 100 - 150 depending on make, model, oem-aftermarket, and warranty length. i suggest the extra 30 bucks for lifetime over 1 year warranty just to be safe.

97 LS - I have been experiencing similar problems. First, my car overheated and a buddy of mine looked at it and told me there was no leak, all i needed was a new thermostat- changed it out for like $25 and still suffering the same problem, except much less frequently. I too am seeing my coolant blow off or leak from the top valve near the cap, causing a strong coolant burning smell to come from my car everytime i drive it. Do i need a new radiatior? My LS has 61K on it, seems to me a radiator should last longer.

NEWBIES TAKE NOTE:

All Threads have dates, DO NOT bring old threads back. It is against user guidelines and very annoying for people who have already read and helped at the original time a thread was posted. Please take note of a threads date before replying. If a threads date is more than a month old leave it alone. If you really have something to say on the topic start a new thread about it.

A general rule is if it is not on the first page of threads it is too old to post in.

Now that my rant is ending please notice that this particular thread is from last year! more than likely the people who started it are no longer members here and more than likely will not respond to you.
