Re: Aston Martin DBS

Tamiya manufactures most of their kits in Philippines, and obviously Singapore is closer, that's why you got it early.
A while ago, Canada got a hold of F60 kits before Japan did, and I'm guessing the Canadian distributor used an air service instead of surface.

Looks like a descent kit. I guess we can't expect for the level of details like in their 300ZX or NSX kits with complete engine details. Still, it's certainly better than no engine (good thing, it's not molded with the body like in the GT-R kit), and most importantly it's Aston!

Looks like you have another unobtanium at the moment, Kosutte-Ginsan. I can't even find it on any local Japanese sites, either. Everyone is all sold out at the moment. Maybe Work can't supply the demand for it. I can't see how another manufacturer doesn't make at least a similar product.

Funny you should mention that. I noticed even the same # kit might have a different place of manufacture (Japan or Phillipines). Although, most of my Tamiya kits are Made in Japan (and I've got quite a few).

its quite a positive kit so far for me. Not much complains as there seems to be nothing i cant fix or solve. Tamiya did put alot of thought to the construction of the kit , eg . 2 part brake disc ( caliper and disc)

Some parts of the body are seperate due to chrome or carbon fibre detailing needed like the front lip and rear boot chrome lining.

The front and rear lights compriced of many parts. Each part being one colour , which makes detailing easy as well as painting.

Overall its well thought out kit and it still offers perfect fitting parts + PE + window mask which just became a standard issue across the board.

Some progress on the body

This is after 2 coats of black metallic paint and pearl. Sorry i forgot to take after the metallic black.

This is after clearcoating and sanding at 1500 and 2000 before the last clear coat.

Another shot of the rims after some work done to add realisim

Re: Aston Martin DBS

Not a fan of the pearl effect. It still has great presence though. Matches the wheels nicely and has a vip look to it.

Re: Aston Martin DBS

unlike the gt-r, the disc brake is nicely detailed, good

is the aston martin emblem on the front just decal?

The decal sheet looks like it has (2) aston logos. Don't see them on the PE fret, so it must be a decal.

Re: Aston Martin DBS

The pearl paint gives the DB9 a different look. This will be a stunner of a kit!

it's a decal not emblem.... Usually kits give decal logos and u have to buy the pe and put the decal on it to get a nice logo
