do any of younz have a turbo or know anyone with one?

h series motors have nikasil coated sleeve's, they are much stronger then d or b sleeves. thier problem is weak ring lands that sit way to high on the piston. the solution...getting forged pistons. well it doesnt work well because forged pistons score nikasil and you blow your motor, so you need to get pistons coated or you need it resleeved

as for b series motors my freind chris runs 10psi on a stock b16. most of the guys at hybrid dynamics (a shop around here) run about 8-14 on stock gsr's and one guys runs that on a type r and all with simple fmu's except chris who has the vafc fix.

and d series motors can hold it too, our boy jim ran 10 psi unintercooled with a greddy kit for months till he swapped in an h22, not to mention countless kids we meet up with every weekend from around the city that run 10psi+ on generally stock motors.

honda motors can handle the boost, they just like to be tuned right, plain and simple.

10 psi on a stock h22a is asking for trouble, as i know. I ran my car fine on 8psi with standard internals but as soon as i went up to 10psi it threw a rod out the block. This was whilst it was on a dyno getting tuned for the extra pounds.
If you want to make good cheap power out of a h22a i recomend you drop in a thicker head gasket and run no more than 8psi, it with 98ron fuel will run forever.
All the best :flash:

ok i just want to say one thing and if im wrong... then im wrong but not all h series suck for turbocharging. The H23A1 has a 9:8:1 compression ratio and is closed decked. doesnt that mean anything?
