Re: Blue Super Seven W.I.P.

Magnificent work as ever. Although I have to say the true joy for me in this project was seeing the individual components as they were made. Always something to be learned.

I'm happy to have something to aspire to.

Re: Blue Super Seven W.I.P.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate your kind compliments.

stainlesssteel: The headlights are kit units, just painted, wired, decaled and detailed. The taillights on the other hand are scratchbuilt/machined units made from aluminum and acrylic. There are pictures and some explanations earlier in this thread, sorry, I don't know exactly which page(s).

rsxse240: As for the tires/wheels, they are absolutely the correct size. (Rear tires are 225/50ZR15.) Not an oversight, nothing overlooked, in fact, they are the factory specified tires for the top of the line JPE version. Many people don't realize how small the real cars are, and that when one has occupants in it, the rear sits significantly lower than when empty. (I do have some firsthand knowledge on the subject...) This model does not have occupants, therefore it sits as such. As for the wheel style and overall styling of the Super 7, to each his own. I built it for me and I happen to like them. (I like a lot of weird stuff.)
You are of course entitled to your own perspective, and I'm not knocking it. Not meant as anything negative, just pointing out why it is the way it is...

By the way, since this is my seventh Seven, I chose a wheel design with a seven spoke style. If you look close, you will find the theme of 7 runs all through it.
Any other questions? Stay tuned, more to come... - Mark

Yes, it will be there. I hope to meet more of the AF crowd in person there too. I will be there both days. Anyone interested please look me up, I won't be difficult to find... - Mark

Re: Blue Super Seven W.I.P.

Sweet!
Thanks for posting all that.
This is a better reference for a 7 build than most of the 'real' car builds I've seen on the web.
As always I'm a big fan of your work.

Mirrors

Finally got the mirrors done and mounted. Actually they have been done for a while and just waiting to be mounted. A week ago I accidentally ruined the Wink mirror. Freak paint accident. So I had to rebuild and re-machine some of it and this time I used stainless steel for the panels. Gettin' closer to the end... - Mark

Re: Blue Super Seven W.I.P.

Well I've been trying to think of some corney pun...but I can't. Well, I just thought of one but I will refrain. Looking great Mark. I love the wink mirror.

Re: Blue Super Seven W.I.P.

Now Mark, the exhaust tip in the video is different than the one in the video. Plus the Seven has the system running along the side of the body, not out the back like it appears in the video. Being that the Seven and your Camaro are the same color, just different scales I'm going to say you video taped your Camaro.

Sorry to ruin your fun, forgive me.
