It's a stunning bit of work, and looks nothing short of awesome. I noticed you managed to make a decent mask for the windscreen. How did you do it? I've got this kt, and the F40 to build as I want to have a show with the F40, F50 and Enzo all in red, but the F40 and F50 have no window masks. Just wondering if there was a good trick, or is it a case of just "do" the best with masking tape, pencil line and a sharpe knife?

OK, 'nuff about flying, back to the F50.

mickbench- Nope, no trick, just alot of careful, tedious masking. The F40 windshield certainly won't be hard (the frame is on the body itself, not the windshield), but the side windows may be nasty. But as the F40 may very well be my next build, you'll get a front row seat as I do mine....

klutz_100- Yeah, I find I get a much better view of the world that way.


Added some wiring to the top of the rear wheel arches. Time now for the rest of the bodywork.





Seems almost a shame to cover it up with bodywork.

Great detail. I love all the wiring done and you've tackled the rear mesh problem very well. Here do you get your references from? I can't seem to get which wires goes to where (except for the distributors).

Unbelievable. Can't believe I hadn't looked at the thread before now. The carbon fibre detail is the most stunning I've ever seen. Kudos!

Finished (finally)! Only took me about a year. The end results:

Barchetta, of course! (Don't want to cover up anyting I don't have to!)




To keep the engine lid lifted, I made some supports. Just bent brass rod with some styrene bits added, painted black. They get wedged in just ahead of the hold down latches.












The seatbelts are just Tamiya tape cut into 2mm strips, painted black, with hardware made from strip styrene.

Soon as the weather cooperates, I'll get sone outdoors shots. Then, it's on to the next one!

Thanks for all your comments, everyone. I really enjoyed building and posting this one. I shudder to think how long it would have taken me to finish without you guys to spur me on! Meanwhile, I have a waist high pile of 1/24 Ferrari's (and BMW's and Porsche's!) to get through. Let's see, what's next....
