Looks awesome. Can't wait until we can see the bodies. I'm patiently waiting on DN Racing's sets as well as the SMS decals to do mine. I never really liked the Flying Lizards until these decals started coming out and this WIP. BTW, DMC decals now has the 2004 and 2006 schemes.

These are not printed by Cartograf or Interdecals, but they are still pretty good. They are about on the same scale as Microscale type decals.

Re: 2011 flying lizard porsches

The bodies are painted!! First, a coat of white primer:

And then, ZERO paints applied to the bodies...I just love this stuff...VERY easy to use. Only the bodies and wings are shown in this photo, but I also painted the side mirrors and wing plates:

And just to be 100% sure the clear coat (Zero 2 part clear) wonŽt eat the decals, I painted the remains of a Fujimi body to use it as a test part:

Next time, I will finally show you the bodies with decals and clear applied!

Re: 2011 flying lizard porsches

Nice update Sam - I also have the Zero paints from Steve at Hiroboy - and I agree it is so user friendly. How did you determine where to change the color of the paint? did you use the decal as a template and then mask so the different colors will fit the decals? Also how many coats did you apply? - looks very good Sam - waiting to see the decal application - are you going to use ProFil24 decals or the decals from frank at Decal.doc? - John

Re: 2011 flying lizard porsches

Thanks John!

I made a photocopy of the decals and used the copy as a template to define the place of the second colour.

I applied 3 mist coats and 2 wet coats to cover the bodies.

I have 2 sets of Profil24 decals. The clear coat is drying right now, and the decals will be applied in 2 or 3 days.

Re: 2011 flying lizard porsches

Thanks for your interest and support!

Decal application is underway!!

The Profil24 sheets are just beautiful...Accurate graphics and excellent color registration:

The instruction sheet is not very detailed. You have to study your reference photos very closely to figure out the proper order of application:

And hereŽs a little sample of the process... The decals are very easy to apply and they respond very well to Micro Sol/Set:

Next time IŽll show you the bodies with all the decals in place!
