internals---JDM or not????????/

I recently have obtained enough money to overhaul my engine and turn it into a street driven low 13 high 12's vehicle. I need some opinions on what to do. Let's start off with what I have already. It's a B18C JDM type R motor. Stock except for intake, exhaust and a chip it pulls 14.2 in the quarter. That's with my original GS-R tranny from my grenaded motor of the past. So this is what I have in mind. A type R tranny with LSD from factory. That's a big chunk of the money. Then with the rest of it, I can get a lightweight flywheel, 6 puck clutch, civic type R pistons, new rod bearings, and a civic type R intake cam. Will that be strong enough to run low 13 high 12's. Anybody else has suggestions????? I don't want anything extreme that I can't afford like fully port and polish with oversize valves on my head, or wild cams that would need upgrading my valvetrain.

you wont hit 12's with those extras but very high 13's are possible, add slick and you should be mid 13's

you'll hit high 13s with the set up you just mentioned. If you wanna be fast it requires more money! If i was i would save up and invest skunk2 stage 2 cams along with there upgraded valvetrain. Ctr pistons is a good choice also. SO with the set up that i mentioned you'll hit low 13s possibly high 12s with drag radials. IF you gonna spend like 1500 on a type r trans thats not gonna get you into the 12s or 13s. Maybe 14 flat but thats all u gonna see. So with that 1500 thats the whole skunk2 set up right there!

what car is the itr motor in? if its in a light car like a hatch or crx....you should be in the 13's already. alot of the things you listed are good except the 6puck clutch.... it will put more wear and tear on your brand new type r tranny your dumping money into. a stage 2 or 3 clutchmasters should be FINE for that car.
