yellow F1 car

When i was in london, visiting Taylor and Crawley, I asked if the yellow car was still there in another warehouse. is wasn't there but the guy from Taylor and Crawley, who was very friendly btw, told me the car was sold. I said okay. Then he added it went to America. I didn't knew anything of S&D, EPA or DOT so i didn't ask any further questions.
Now ofcourse I know, that was the stupidest thing i could do back then.

Now the question. Does anybody know anything of this car, i don't know chassis # of the car, i don't know anything really besides it was a 1994 car, with very low mileage, about 3.000km, and that it was one of the rare yellow McLarens, and it had a black interior.

XOTech, inform us please!

Maarten,
you are right, the car is in the US now! I can't say anymore since the owner wishes to remain anonymous, but enjoy the pics.
Rgds,
Faisal.

the wickedest F1 ever, no doubt, beautiful color.
only in soccer in holland, theclub i hate most (from our neighbour city, arnhem, club is called vitesse) the colors are black and yellow, so if i drive it thru some parts of nijmegen, i'll get my ass kicked for sure. but then again, if i have a McLaren, i'd live on the canals in a bigger house than my uncle's

edit: btw, faisal, beautiful pics, you know chassis # and legal status of the car (S&D, or something like that)?

Well, if you were right about the year being '1994' and the color is original, then that is road car #014.

Maybe Faisal can confirm this...

BTW- Excellent photos!! Did you take these yourself? Was this an event that the car was displayed at? What ever you can share would be greatly appreciated as always.

well the site stated it was 1994, and if i remember it correctly, it had 3,056 km on the odometer
so it's probably a very nice example, and yes i suspect it is original, they would mention another paintjob

sorry guys, i don't follow the numbers because all mclarens get upgraded to the latest spec if they are serviced by the factory or at one of the authorized service centers. so the numbers don't hold any significance for me, except maybe those of the le mans winning cars.

i am also convinced that every single car they made is capable of winning le mans, so i don't bother with knowing the specific numbers of the cars that did take part in the historic race. in my opinion, each F1 car is an absolute jewel, although i don't care for the look of the longtails too much.

even though they were designed as a roadcar, i think they had to make very minimal changes to the cars' specs to run them in the gruelling le mans endurance race. and not only did they run, they swept the race in their first effort. that is absolutely amazing to me.

if i got one of these cars, i would change or upgrade the following:
- upgrade to carbon brakes per the original design spec, now that it's a proven technology
- look into lower profile tyres for increased ground effect and better CoD, etc., although this might make the steering too quick--not good for high speeds!
- get rid of the stereo since i can get fm and 8 hours out of an mp3 player that weighs nothing
- put a sheet steel slider under the front skirt if it's got a hdf package
- make sure the steering wheel is removable with a unique keyed column so that even if someone bypassed the alarm, they couldn't steal it (at least, they couldn't drive it away)!
-get a license plate that reads mac atak or big mac!

if i'd buy a mclaren it would be the mclaren i first saw at T&C
then i'd strip it, have the body converted to the yellow clinic car look
(that is with the lower mirrors) same color of course and i'd have another color interior, while thinking about the interior, maybe purple looks good on it, but its tooo pimpy, but black is to hot and cognac doesn't match with the bright (or poisonous) yellow.

secondly i'd have the engine tuned, in a way that i'd have a computer insite the car with wich i can tune the power to my liking, ie. in bad eather 400 bhp so i don't slip, but with dry weather about let's say 850 bhp. of course that goes with a raised rev limiter so with that i think i can easily kill any other car that's on the road probably even that stupid bugatti veyron. i hate the car because it's made only for the glory of ferdinand piech. the guy's so full of himself. Yes he saved volkswagen, yes he made the porsche 917, one of the most succesful racecars ever, but just because he can't stand it the mclaren being the best car, he builds a sixteen cylinder, quad turbo, all electrical systems you can ever think of, car. or in a way, a computer with a very big electrical power generator. or you can call it a driving bank account.

but enough about the bugatti, my mclaren will be yellow, with a more powerful engine and clinic model body kit.

you don't think you'd slip with 400 bhp in bad weather in a rear wheel drive car that weighs 2000-odd pounds?

to kill other cars, you typically need torque, not horsepower. but the mclaren has enough to beat anything already.

Just because it's a McLaren does not mean that it can't be stolen and repainted. It's easy enough to forge paperwork and ship or drive cars to a different locality without them ever being discovered. And just because it's a million dollar car does not mean that a car thief wouldn't sell it for a quick 100k or whatever he can get.

A keyed steering column is a very trivial precaution, and it won't affect the weight, performance, or mess up the electronics.
