spark plug gapping

hmm when you buy platinum spark plugs you shouldn't have to buy them...right. I went to napa & got a set of Bosch 4-way platinums, they said it was for my car...so I shouldn't have to gap them, right, since you can't gap platinums...

No...you shouldn't have to.
I don't see why you couldn't , the only thing thats platinum is the center electrode.

I'm not a big fan of those +4's anyway. theres other better plugs that will work better. In my experience the plats foul VERY easily , something you wanna stay away from with a DSM , especially if you have any mods....

For plugs you want to get

NGK BPR6ES plugs for stock to mildly modded cars
BPR7ES for cars that run higher boost (one range colder plug)

Peace

Those +4's have been wreaking havoc on turbo motors. Supposedly the platinum tip is dropping out of the plug right into the cylinder walls. Bounces around on top of the piston & TADA! Fried motor. Stick with the BPR6Es's like AVES said. for 4$ for 4, can't beat the price, even if you replace them every 10k miles.

Rob

ps I change my plugs at every oil change. I'd rather feel safe with fresh plugs, rather than cheap out on a pack of smokes basically.

for the NGK BPR6ES, do I still need to gap those, or are they already the right gap?

You ALWAYS need to gap plugs. Even if it says you don't you should take the risk.
