i have to ask the smartest people

obviously we are quite smart because we decided on the integra. i do have a question on car care. i washed, waxed, and polished my car the other day. i think i want to add a step in there somewhere. does anyone have any experience with the clay/spray stuff? i know it has been featured on horespower tv, atleast thats where i know it from. i saw the stuff in walmart and i am still considering buying it. should i? if i should buy it please tell me how to use it. i know u would do it after the washing and drying of course. i would like to know how long this stuff would take to use on a whole car (or just specific parts of the car). i would also like to know any techniques used that work well. everyone's input is appreciated.

thanks,

chris

i dont like the clay bar because they can smear dirt around and scratch your pain buffing is the best way.

smear dirt around and scratch your paint?

well...it depends, you know you're supposed to wash your car before you use the bar right? that way theres not gonna be anything (dirt, rocks, hobos) on your car to smear or scratch your paint...

btw, i was kidding about the stupid thing, I love integras, my gf's thinking about getting one, should be a joy to work on.

what you are trying to get off your paint is getting stuck in the clay any you are smearing it around. i use to work at a body shop and that is my opinion

for what clay? just keep a bottle of spray wax in your hand and keep the surface wet. spray way works better than water because it lubricates more. i still dont like it

I have a diploma in ACR (paint and body). IMO the clay is a waste of $ unless you are using it on black or any real dark color even then if you don't do it right then it won't work well either. Try buffing the car with a three step system like meguiars mirror glaze system, use a buffer and it should take only 1hr at most and be sure to do it in the shade. This will remove all the same thing easier and faster and give much better results.
