you have to find a wire that has 12+ volts when the key is in the acc and on position.

The "remote" refers to remote amp turn-on, which turns on the amp when the stereo is turned on, and turns it off when it turns off. Aftermarket decks have a special wire (suprise, it's labeled remote too), this wire connects to the amp "remote". Splice the remote wire to the power wire on your stock head unit (switched power, not constant), you could also splice this wire anywhere there is power when your stereo is turned on.

thanks... i got it to work!

but i have another question... i put a switch in between the 12v source(battery) and the power terminal of my amp... just in case my rents need to move the car... if they get an earful... imma get an earful of yellin... ive noticed tho that my car starts up a lil sluggish... it cranks n starts... but its slow... heres how the switch is... tell me if im doin sumthin wrong...

1- 12vsource battery
2- 12v power terminal amp
3- ground

when its thrown to the ON position, (im assuming) 1 and 2 are connected...

when its thrown to the OFF positions, (im assuming) 2 and 3 are connected...

its a 3 terminal toggle switch from radioshack... did i wire it right? i dont have the part-number handy (i will post it when i get the chance to look) and it didnt come wid instructions... this is the first time ive wired a sound system... i had a friend there help me... he has experience... but not with hondas...

If it works you've done it right, the sluggish starting could have to do with a loose battery connection (it shouldn't wiggle). Also, since you've decided to go with the switch method, turn the amp on after you turn your car on, that way you can avoid any power surge problems...unlikely but just a precaution.
