poor mans intake

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2416723408

im thinking about getting this. only problem is the running from the air filter box is a hose, going to a littler box, then off to the exhaust through a metal piping. if i get this, what do i do with that hose? btw its on a 89 if that makes a difference.

Making an intake for the SOHC is a breeze. Before you do stuff like this, you may want to learn a bit more about the devices in the engine bay and what they do -- get an FSM and learn a bit, it helps.

I made my own intake out of a few mandrel links and some straight pipe, it goes from the intake manifold to the MAFS, then from the MAFS to underneath the fender. Its not hard, just a bit of common sense..

The small black box is a resonator, you dont really need that. Its part of the AIV system. You can put a breather filter on it.. or on the resonator, either one. Same goes for the valve cover breather tube.
