May 17th: "Street Races VS The Cops" @ Sac Raceway...is anyone going???

well i was out at sears point for the wednesday night drags last week and this guy gave me a this flyer and i thought i would spread the word. this upcoming saturday(may17th...a day AFTER my bday! ) sac raceway is holding a drag event. here are the details on the flyer...

-may 17th
-gates open 3pm, $5
-racing 5-10pm, extra $25(thats $30 total if you don't know how to add!!! )
--$500 to each winner
-open to all cars,trucks,motorcycles

so is anyone going? i'll be there with my crew. look for me...i'll be in a white crx with big 3dimensionZ stickers on the front windows...:sun: say hi if ya see me! btw my name is john.....

Pretty sure the cops are using this as a tactic to check out the faster cars , the better to scope you out on the street

haha naw this is a yearly event...hasn't brought up any problems i don't think??? last wednesday they had a "race the cops" event over at the infineon raceway track near my house...they have it every wednesday to be exact. cops come from different cities to run there cars against others. i don't think they have the that intention...well maybe they do??? oh well i'm still going!!! if they wanted to better scope you they could just come out every wednesday to sac raceway and scope the cars don't you think??? yet they don't do that... i say there just doing this to have a lil fun...:smoker2:

It's a legit event.They want to keep races off the streets.Wish they had an event like that here.

Yea the event is pretty fun, I've been to them in the past, but its true that the cops are getting an idea of what's out there, because every car that runs with them is supposed to be street legal I think, so its a bit of both. Either way, its fun

And you know they don't do that??? Maybe they show up and walk around in plain clothes just like everybody else....

how did it go i wounder how fast the cop cars run especially the camaros

it went well. pretty good turn out. got plenty of runs in. my best time was a 14.9@91mph with my crx HF with D16A6 i\h\e. i didn't see any camero cop cars out there....just the normal one, which were running like high 16's and such. i think the next one is in july or june? not sure....but i'll probably be going out also....
