New Intake!

Hi,

I just installed my Focuz short ram intake on my 1990 Honda Civic LX.
Focuz is the name of the company by the way, lol. Not Ford.
Well, anyways I installed it and I was so surpirzed at the difference it made. My car seems to have better pick up and takes off a quicker.
In only have the 1.5 liter 92 hp engine and the only mod is the intake.
I also get a nice low pitched tone from the intake.
Its weird but my car seems like it just got a 10 hp boost. I dont think thats correct but what do you guys think I got? 5 hp?
I had my bro count how many seconds it took to get 0-60 mph and he counted 9 secs. I know its not as accurate as a clock or track but its all I got. Is that pretty good for a 1.5 liter engine with just and intake?

thanks,
Owen

I tried an intake on my LX as well, and it feels just the same as taking off the rubber joint between the resonator, the filter box, and the intake piping. Plus, modifying the stock intake is free and it looks legal during engine checks for smog and whatnot. The intakes look nice and sound nice, but I can get the same results just freeing up the stock intake.

Ummm I dont know much about the company.
All I know is I was short on cash so I went to Autodyamic.com and ordered their 69.95 short ram intake.
It seems real good and worth the money.
At least I didnt have to spend 150 bucks for a AEM intake.
Although AEM are pretty good I just couldnt afford it at the time.
peace

5hp on an LX, are you serious? The only thing you GAINED was the noise... and maybe 1-2hp once you get into the 5000 rpm range, if even that?

10HP? maybe -5hp to .5hp

i say -5hp because a car likes cool air not warm

stock air-intake with the resonator & tubing actually sucks cooler air then a short ram.

you're better of replacing just the air filter with K&N in that situation but if you want the looks & sound go with cold-air intake or ram-air

only time i use a short ram is in the winter other than that i run cold-air maybe 2HP gain

But my car still feels like it gained a huge improvement in power.
