Brake cleaner is the one that is bad for the plastic, brake fluid will strip the paint without harming the plastic/styrene. Castrol Super Clean should be available at either a Walmart or a K-Mart in the Automotive section, just look for the big purple jug amongst the car soaps and cleaners. Ray

Depends on how thick the paint is, I usually leave mine in one or two days depending, but it is safe to leave it in any time up to a week. Ray

Not being mean but, why would we suggest to use brake fluid if it melted plastic? Why didn't you do a search.
This kind of thing is happening too often on Af recently and it's bugging me. It's happened many times where we had to tell you to look at the FAQ and do a search. to prove my point I'll show you what happened today.http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t103032.html This one isn't too bad, but I think he should've done more research. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t103038.html And the stupid thread that was deleted which was used to test if he was able to make the spinny cars appear, like the ones in my sig. And don't forget this thread. Not being offensive just pointing out something. Am I right or wrong. The 2nd one I posted I don't think was stupid like the other ones. 3rd one aint too bad either but just a little.

Brake fluid is just the job, leave the model in say over-night and then use a toothbrush (either an old one, or failing that use your sisters!!) to scrub in all the little recess's and it will take off the paint just great, before you then try to respray it ensure you give it a damn good wash using warm soapy water, then rinse it and leave to dry 'cos i there's ANY trace of brake fluid left it'll mess up your new pant job and then you're gonna have to do it all over again!!

Whoa cut the guy some slack he said he had used the search thingie but was still unsure about it so he asked, lets not forget he only has 70 odd posts so is still a newbie really unlike yourself with 800+ posts but that's not really the point, the point is that surely we're here to help and impartsome of our knowledge to the newer members and not ask a question that has been asked before and will no doubt be asked again!!
