325 Reliability

what do you guys think about the 92-95 325's reliability as they start getting more miles on them (150k+). when do the costs of keeping it running start to become overwhelming?

Thumbs up

I have a 93, 325i, Automatic. It only has 95K miles on it so it doesn't exactly meet your case study. But I've had it for 2 years now and have had no major problems. It's running like a champ. I do have an issue with my power windows. They occasionally decide they don't want to go up. Still trying to get that resolved without dropping a wad of cash. Other than that, just normal maintenance issue's like needing a new muffler due to some rust.

I'd say for the money you'll pay, you'll be loads happier with the used 325 than with a used honda, even if the honda is a few years newer. I know I was when I dumped my tiny Accura.

I've got a 325 '94 with Stock speakers and they sound just fine. Not the loudest, but nice crisp clear sounds from all around. My front left one crackles a little when I turn up the stereo...but only when I'm turning it up. For the most part, and I listen a lot, I've been impressed by what I've heard from my car.
