Well..if you want to compare the B16a to the B18a you can do it pretty easy. The B16a is a good motor and it makes horsepower and really no torque (hence the name the "torqueless wonder"). The B18a is a good motor also that makes about 135ish horsepower and makes eqaul torque. It all depends on what you want, me personally I like torque more than horsepower but thats just me. The moment that i dropped a B18a into a CRX for the first time i fell in love with the swap. All you would really need is a set of motor mounts or you can make your own seeing how you will have the integra. Let me know what all you would want and I can get you a pretty good estimate from that. The motors are good and strong, I start them up before i pull them and see if they smoke and listen for valve tick or anything like that, sometimes i can drive the car and see how the tranny feels but not always but i wouldn't waste my time on pulling out anything that is junk, trust me. I have been on this board for a while and a few people can vouch for me that I'm honest and true about what i say. My phone number is 814-730-0928 give me a call if you want and we can talk more. Oh and anything that i can get is LEGIT, not that you really care.

(they give me the car and tell me to take what i need and just bring back what i don't use) so i can get anything off the car, i can usually get them for around $650-800 all depends on miles. Some go cheaper if high miles.

Hey, so I've decided that I'll become the resident dummy in this forum, and hopefully ask the questions that others were too afraid to ask. So, well actually my first question isn't all that dumb. I was wondering two things. One how long it would take you to do this swap on a CRX HF and two, how much you would charge me.

My other qustion is falling down the slope of intelligence I fear. I first came across the idea of getting this car because of what excellent gas mileage it got. So, I was wondering, in the love of that mileage, what kinda mpg the b16 or the b18 offered.

Oh, and while I'm already on here blabbing away, two more things. First, on eaby I found a couple b16a's that said they start at 160hp, and I was wondering if that's acurate since you posted 135 or somethin...and Secondly, if anyone feels like responding, what other types of engine swaps are available, and what would be your fav choice?

So, thanx for listenin to my ramblings and helpin out a poor soul who should've taken auto class before watchin The Fast and The Furious.

My B16A has the same 'oil in the plugs' problem; is there a generic (NAPA, autozone, etc) source for the gaskets? Or is this a dealer only item...

P.S. Why does every post turn into a B16 vs B18 debate?

Everything I've read on the B18A (only 130HP) says they get 27MPG in the stock Integra. Since a Civic weighs several hundred pounds less, you might get...28MPG.
I don't know what the B16 gets. Everyone on this forum has a lead foot, and while they'll spend 6 months researching engine upgrades, they can't spend 10 seconds to write down and figure their mileage. I started a thread once, and not one member of this forum had a clue of what their actual mileage after a swap was.

PS-My 1990 LX with stock motor, cold air intake, and headers gets 31MPG. If I drive over 90MPH a lot, it drops down to 30MPG. On the stock 13-inch steelies with pizza cutters, I used to get 40MPG!

Hey thanx a lot for answering that for me. I figured I could just look at what car the engine came outta and add a little for less weight, but I was wondering if anyone knew. So cool, thanx again for answering. Now I just need jmunk to tell me how much he'll charge for putting it in and I'll be gettin me one. :frog:

Oh, btw, in case your readin this (hopefully you're still around this was a couple months ago.) I would be most interested in a lower mileage B16 with like everything that I need to swap an HF, but which ever.

You can get a low mileage 1st gen B16A cable tranny swap (perfect for your application) for around 1400us. The B16 gets pretty good gas mileage. I get about 30mpg highway and about 28mpg city.
