Question Looking Towards Rebuild: Which Car?

I'm looking towards getting a POS from either a junkyard or an impound. Just something I want to work on as a hobby/obsession. I plan on rebuilding it from the ground up.

So here are the requirements:
1. Must be under $1,000 (I plan on putting money into it during the rebuild).

2. Must be easy to work on.

I like the Jeep Wranglers, but they're hard to locate within my requirements.

I'm looking forward to all your recommendations.

Thanks for the recommendation. A lot of people told me the same thing. I'll browse around.

Jeeps are also a bit easier to work on. They have lots of room under the hood and easy access to just about everything.
